  1. I love the concept, I've been training on a 1 x 9 setup for a couple of months now. Running a 34 up front a a 11/34 at the rear. Great for building up strength. A the moment I've been using a bastardised front derailleur as a chain guide. Must admit thought Absolon was on an MRP though. Be keen to get an E13 unit though. Strange this, we seem to have gone from 27 gears to 18 to 9 and then back up to 10. Simplicity is obviously king.
  2. It's a KCNC headset. Thanks Veloce Dassie' date=' I have about 10 caps I can use and always many more to collect at braais. My favorite is the Heineken cap.[/quote'] Interesting, looks very much like one of the Areozine units... Is it, the headset, part of KCNC's new Radiant (R Series) headset line?
  3. Awesome, I have a fork that needs doing..
  4. Pretty Awesome, who did the paintjob?
  5. The post Alu or Carbon? Normally the best way is two sit there with some amonia and a steam cleaner. Syringe amonia around the base of the post, let it sink it. Wait 20 odd minutes and give it a tug. The idea is the that the amonia loosens the bonded post, eats away at the oxidation. If that fails steam clean the base and try again. It's worked before, just keep at it. Good luck.
  6. Sorry to hear about his misfortune, very glad he recevied no serious injuries.
  7. Just like to publicly thank Johan, who endlessly endured my multiple emails regarding spoke sizing. I then bought the relavent spokes through Johan. He cut them down to the correct lengths at no extra charge and sent them off to me before I paid him. It was insisted that I only transfer the funds into his account when the parcel arrived and I was happy with its contents. Needless to say I was. Brilliant prices, superb knowledge and above all a great attitude. Don't think anyone could expect anything more. Thanks JB, I'll definately be back.
  8. Your rim of choice. No Tubes CX conversion kit. Nice new tyre with a good folding bead, eg. Shwalbe Ultremo. Follow the installation videos on the no tubes site. Bob's your Uncle and Fanny's your aunt. 1 Tubeless road wheelset.
  9. Ooh post of the day Working on the fact that you don't exactly want to spend a massive amount. > Change all your bolts to either aluminium or titanium. > Swop your rotors out for some Aligator units. > Sell your cockpit and buy a full KCNC one. > Invest in some Eggbeater SLs, they can be upgraded, at a later stage with ti axles. > Shwalbes Rocket Rons and Continentals Speedkings, (2.1) both weigh in the region of 400 grams each. You can go on and on, but be warned it becomes addictve, as well as expensive. Soon you'll be after BTP carbon bolts and ceramic bearings in your pedals. My honest advice, ride it till the bits fall off and then replace them with something lighter/ better. BTW, sweet looking rig.
  10. Not too shabby!

  13. DMR do wicked DJ rigs. If I had the money I'd splash out on a Commencal Absolut Ti. http://shop1.actinicexpress.co.uk/shops/bikeactive/images/catalog/Ti_4X.jpg http://images.google.co.za/imgres?imgurl=http://shop1.actinicexpress.co.uk/shops/bikeactive/images/catalog/Ti_4X.jpg&imgrefurl=http://shop1.actinicexpress.co.uk/shops/bikeactive/index.php%3Fcat%3D_NEWS&usg=__Tpfi8Svd-FbzR8N4EHhKN6MoqQ0=&h=227&w=400&sz=88&hl=en&start=3&um=1&tbnid=4urhgASTjqSIXM:&tbnh=70&tbnw=124&prev=/images%3Fq%3DCommencal%2BAbsolut%2BTi%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26um%3D1Racer X2009-10-13 02:34:43

  20. Any decent LBS should be able to both, true your hoops and service your hubs. Course its much more fun doing it yourself.
  21. I believe that was right before DG's first XC race. As I recall ''The Chubby Kid," thrashed the living daylights out of him..

    Joe

Was playing around with the camera and got this shot. Everbody meet Joe. He's a Grey Hound/ Ridgeback cross. 1 year old, give or take a few days. He eats everything, sleeps on the bed, digs up the garden and generally is a pain in the neck. That said we love him dearly and wouldn't trade him for anything.
  23. No clue how much it is. I just uploaded it cause it looked nice. With the exception of the crank and hubs it looks like it'll have tools to take a whole bike apart.
