  1. I have a SID WC. The negative valve sits right above the rotor. I thus use the pump to let air out, this stops the rotor being lubricated. Otherwise a sheet of bog roll on top of my finger does the trick as well.
  2. Johan better come and comment, personally If I had a hairline crack in a rim I would retire it. Best post a pic so we can see the extent of the damage.
  3. I was about to suggest aqueous cream

  5. Well I'd stay with the HT. Then again some one else will say go the ST. Its your choice, asking a question like this is like asking your mother to go clothes shopping for you, its all about personal choice.
  6. Keep the XTC, lighter, less to go wrong and you're 18. You're joints should still be able to put up with extra punsihment of no rear shock.
  7. Basically cheap Zipps in drag. Should be of a decent quality though.
  8. Damn, the poll would only let me vote once, Viva La Gripshift.
  9. Cool, ok delivery times?
  10. Out of interest how did you mod you record unit to make it top pull?
  11. Aha, Yeah. I took the shortcut and ordered from speen direct. Speen.de
  12. Yeah running a XTR 960, need I explain the dodgy BCD? In any case I've been running a duo setup on the 960's for about 18 months now but I really feel I need a easier ratio, I fine on all but the super steep stuff. At which point the 32 up front makes me bleed slightly. The two inner ring interfaces have a 64/102 BCD. My plan is to stick some Chinooks, 28/42 or 44, onto the two inner mounts and then shave the extra lugs for the outer most ring off. As seen here. I am getting a speen adaptor so soon I'll be able to run a Force derailleur up front as well.
  13. Presumably you've ordered from them before?
  14. I'm looking for the following chain ring. A Ta Specalities Gramme Chinook 4 arm 28 tooth chain ring with a BCD of 64mm. As seen here. http://www.starbike.com/php/product_info.php?lang=en&pid=3174 I know you can get em in black but are there any people who actually sell these rings in the Southern Hemisphere. Anyone know where I can get em other than startbike? Thanks.
  15. Get onto your IDT, problem solved
  16. I use a 317/XT/DT Comp build for training. Not the lighest at about 1.9 Kg but bombproof, touch wood. XT hubs also mean your'e never have any probs with spares.
  17. LX Still exists, though now as a dedicated Trekking groupset. http://www.shimano.com.au/publish/content/global_cycle/en/au/index/products/mountain/Deore_LX_T660.html
  18. Thanks everyone

  20. I am looking for some forums cycling forums, like the Hub, in the States, the UK and Europe. Any one know of any? Thanks
  21. Which came first the chicken or the egg??
  22. Sweet I wonder if they'll ship upto KZN??
  23. Look I am all for good spelling, I am a Pom through and through and pride myself on the fact that I can spell words most folks cannot pronounce. That said, I do beleive that being able to spell does not prove anything. I know people at the local university who have PHDs in Nuclear Physics who can't spell to save their lives. At the end of the day spelling is just a means of communicating efficiently, it does not, in any way, dicate how intelligent people are. That said I still write out whole words when ever I SMS some one. This short hand "texting," drives me mad.
