  1. Yeah I have my eye on a Echo Control SL, http://www.echobike.com/bike26.html, at present I'm doing a fair amount of trials work on a kitted out old goose that I've sorta turned into a Trials rig. I aint in the market at the moment. Just started working/studying. Really keen on the Echo though. Also a really big fan of Danny Mackaskill.
  2. I am really keen on getting a Trials Bike, get into a slightly different aspect of the sport. Any one know if there any distributors for Trials bikes in SA? Thanks in advance.
  3. Okay hubbers so far that are keen: > Me > Wheelz ??? > Voigt ??? > PPWTF ??? > I have 2 more guys keen. Any more takes?
  4. Its not so much being put off. I just reckon I need to plan it properly. Migh tas well ask, are you keen?
  5. Experience??? I'm 20 , never done anything like this in my life. I do then think. Youthfull arrogance?
  6. Thats actually a pretty damn cool idea. My racing (MTB Freak) starts off with Barbeton. Maybe we should put the Zim ride off till we can get it organised properly and go it your way. How many days do you reckon it'll take? PPWTF - To be honest riding with gear'll probably set us back 2 -3 KPH.
  7. Plans are sort of ticking along. The major hurdle is trying to find guys who have a enough doh to spend. BB's will work out to around 3K, spares and sh!t another grand. How long is your intended trip?
  8. You sure take this seriously?? hope you have tubeless' date=' tyres are expensive, and slit down, not across[/quote'] Tubleless tyres are heavy and un weight weenie like. I run nice light standard foldable tyres like Karmas, Race and MTN King SS's. Ralphs and Freds are also nice and light. Touch wood against my next puncture. Any advice on cutting equipment I hear stanely knives tend to bunch the skin up and make it tear. I prefer a ncie celean job.
  9. I wonder what says about me then, my MHR is 179 and I'm a whole 20 and 3/4s. Maybe its a case of Benjiman Buttonitis ???
  10. If Armstrong wins the Epic I shall be forced to slit my wrists and puncture my tyres
  11. Until my breakfast makes a re-amergence or when what Azonic said occurs.
  12. I have a recent hack done by a Russian Biokineticist (2007) , will go dig around my HD and see if I can dredge it up.
  13. The weight savings would be in the region of 100 to 150 grams and you would get a better free hub, mavics are notoriously dodgy. That said you're Crossmax (SL or SLRs) are much stiffer and more reiable in terms of overall strength. Sort of up to you really, I'd stick with the Mavics.
  14. Those M 960's are wicked. I have 2 one modified to run three rings and another I got off chrispaxman to run a sweet duo ratio of 28/44. Both cranksets are going to get gold stenciled logos applied as soon as I get vinyl cut outs. Wondering wether I should spray the dou matt silver. The chrome finish is a bit bling
  15. Yumeya is just Shimano gimmick, the costs are horrendous and the weight savings are minimal. If you want the whole XTR effect then by all means go for Yumeya how ever if you are after extreme weight savings then I suggest other avenues.
  16. Do Polar have dealers in the Sudan? You can change the face but you have to be quite carefull, they're allota things that can go badly wrong.
  17. Condolences to the family.
  18. Just shub a whole lot of exotic components onto any HT ti frame and Bob's your Uncle. Your wallet will be 50 to 70 K lighter and you'll have a 7 Kg hardtail. BTW thanks for the info Mampara
  19. Not really House Blend Lynkseys start at 23K.
  20. Mampara - Where did you get the price on the Mamator from. I ride a Taureg, how do they come in at you know?
  21. No worries, thanks for your help.
  22. Hi Eiger, thanks for the offer. What I want to do is too get hold of some high density green foam that I can make into grips. I love foam grips and I'm getting some Green Gripshift covers from CRC and want to match up the HB grips. Thanks.
