The problem is that Wendell needs to attract the most paying customers as possible- And most riders will not even attempt the blue stuff. So in a pure business sense - He is doing the right thing to attract the majority - which makes more money. If the trails are to 'difficult' the average Joe will not go back - They'll rather go to Modderfontein It is the more 'technically competent' cyclists that are feel like the tracks are made to easy - but we are in the minority. That's why most guys I know looking for technical riding end up at Thaba...

I have ridden that section plenty. I think it's only 2-3 times that I've managed to ride the entire route without putting a foot down. It's an awesome place to 'play'...

I wound Wendell up the one day when I said "You've taken out some rocks & roots - Pretty soon I'm gonna have to use my road bike" Needless to say - He wasn't impressed.

A customer you win on price - You will lose on price... For me - the price is a big factor, but I will gladly pay more (Within reason) for good service.

There have been sections of trails made that are off the main path - some even built by us cyclists... Yet it is only a matter of time before runners and walkers take to these paths as well. I think it all boils down to common decency and consideration- by every person on the trails ( and life in general). But this is something sadly lacking in our society these days. And I for one don't see it changing soon... Edit-spelling

If you contact Milwane Wildlife Sanctuary they should be able help - There is an awesome MTB race (Imvelo) there every year and I know their trails are open during the rest of the year.

Cpt armpies- I would definitely disagree.. I have been riding a set of 26 er cobalts for about 2 years and I seriously abuse my bikes (worse than a bottomless coffee at Mugg & Bean) In this time I have had one broken spoke - nothing else... When I needed the spoke( colour-gold) the local agents never had stock, so I bought another colour spoke for a quick fix and within a week the correct colour spokes were delivered to my door at no additional courier charge...Biciletta are the guys- they were impressive. They have never been trued since getting them. I have been super impressed and would buy another set in an instant as soon as I build my next bike.

What's the worst they can do- ban you from CSA events? There are enough races out there that it doesn't matter for a 'non pro / social' rider. I only see it being an issue for guys earning a living from their racing. And this is in no way me supporting light sentences on dopers- in general I support life bans for all dopers. I just know this situation and think there was ulterior motives to testing a back marker of your physical appearance...

I agree-tell them to bugger off! If it means you can't ride a UCI sanctioned event- does it really matter? There are only a couple in RSA anyway...
