  1. Lab & Boxer Burrito It's so cold and they are loving the blankets in the morning. The dogs used to sleep outside until we got the Lab spayed. You obviously have to keep them apart for 10 days after the op so the wound doesn't tear. The first night after the op we had Mila (the lab) sleep inside, but Diesel (the boxer) was ramming our bedroom door that leads to the backyard with his head and making a hell of a noise because he was alone outside. We gave in and let him in for the night thinking it would just be for 10 days - it turned out to actually be so easy and painless with them sleeping inside that it's now a permanent thing. I grew up with dogs sleeping outside, so it was just what I was used to. But on weeks like these I actually can't believe I put those poor things out in the freezing cold.
  2. Sorry man, that's a tough pill to swallow.
  3. Can't argue with that. History has a way of repeating itself. But let me not get dragged further into this. I'm out (of this thread anyway).
  4. Okay... No one claimed a steel chain link stretches. I said the chain stretches. A chain is a system made up of parts. Due to wear the chain (ie: the whole system) increases in length - the definition of stretch. Technically correct enough for you? Oh, and if you wanna get really technical - most cyclists do have enough wattage to stretch one link - luckily for us it's a system made up of many links, so yes - no one is going to be stretching the links themselves on a chain - but again, that's not what I said. This just annoys me - if you read my previous posts you will know I am very aware that the lengthening of the chain does not occur because of the links themselves stretching. And that's why I use "nitpicking" - why tear a sentence or post apart when you know what someone else is saying? Just seems like a bit of a waste of time no? Can't believe I actually responded to this again. Unfortunately can't help myself.
  5. But... the distribution is not exactly symmetrical when you look at intelligence (and no self respecting industrial psychologist uses IQ as a measure anymore). But anyway, you get what I meant.
  6. I always laugh at this saying, because whoever came up with it obviously does not know how averages work
  7. In one word, yes. I am very happy with KMC chains and would choose them over GX chains any day of the week. But XO1 and XX1 chains last forever, so if you have the extra cash lying around buy one, it works out cheaper than cheap chains in the long run.
  8. I started watching it because of Steve, have to say it's not his best work. I finished the first episode in 3 sittings and haven't bothered to start the second episode. EDIT: I see a few people said it gets better, might give ep 2 a go tonight.
  9. First time I have heard of this. That is a pretty massive oversight from Sram. I wonder if it is just a few batches, or all of them. Will check on mine tonight (but I'm a couple thousand km in without that issue), hopefully not the case.
  10. That's when the pads gave been bedded in for you...
  11. If all else fails, buy a normal Epic, swop out the handlebar for a 760-780mm bar, add a dropper, swop the front tyre for a meatier one, and change out the airspring in the fork for a 120mm spring, and voila - you have an Evo. Should work out to the same cost, I am sure any concept store will swop the bar and tyre at no cost. The additional cost of a Lyne dropper and Fox/Rockshox air spring should come to the same cost as an Evo.
  12. I would go 1x12. The new Shimano Deore, SLX, and XT 12 speed stuff is incredibly well priced. I don't see any reason to not go for 12 speed. If you had asked me a few months ago before the new Shimano 1x12 stuff was released I would have told you to go for 1x12 only if you were going to install Sram XO1 or XX1, I find that in Sram's range GX and below is not great in their 1x12 variations. I'd rather have an 11 speed XO1 setup than a 12 speed GX setup. Anyway, all of that is irrelevant now, because of the opening sentence of my post.
  13. As I understand there were a quite a few people on the mountain outside of the 6AM-6PM period in which Corona sleeps. It was probably a number of issues that led to the closure, not just masks.
  14. Was also expecting a few people out this morning getting an outside ride in before the rain, but not a soul in sight.
  15. Ja, he was going off the rails a bit. Like mentioned, I think the Covid rants was due to his gyms being closed. But that little Tweet just ensured his gyms will no longer be his gyms (rightfully so). A large number of athletes have distanced themselves, and the crossfit affiliates are following suite and going on their own. Maybe it will be the Rogue or Reebok games going forward, who knows... The sport certainly won't die, it just won't continue under the CrossFit TM banner.
  16. All I can say is WOW. For such a public personality to make that comment - whether he is a racist or not is just stupid. Greg just threw away his empire in a tweet. Though it was heading in that direction for a while.
  17. Expensive, but the OneUp EDC tool + masterlink tool and plug kit in steerer, and a OneUp pump with CO2 inside is probably the best spend I've ever made on my bike. I have one tool that I just slip into the headtube of whatever bike I'm using that day. It is quiet, and beautifully made. I would buy it again any day of the week.
  18. Okes, take a break from the interwebs for a few days.
  19. No photos today, was soaking up every moment.... But dam, Jonkershoek is just heaven on earth. I have missed that place so much! I have not had as much fun as I had today in a very long time.
  20. You can say that again. Quite honestly BikeHub forums have been causing me more anger than it's worth. I am still active, will stay that way - but I have considered just leaving the forums a few times. The mix of soap box warriors, ignorant bokse, and trolls is mildly entertaining at the best of times, and just ridiculous most of the time. I think BikeHub should get back to being about bikes. Or maybe I should just stick to those threads.
  21. Overall death rate still up. Average deaths at my wife's hospital has stood steady at around 30 per month for a good couple of years. They are now at 90 in April, 100 in May. PS, this is just a general comment. I'm not arguing the mask / no mask thing. I'm too scared to state my position on this forum for fear of being dragged into a handbag slinging war.
  22. It has been mildly entertaining this evening though
  23. Not that expensive? Eish, 750 for those sockets is a bit heavy considering what you can get the for without the ParkTool branding.
  24. I am assuming you mean Helderberg, not Heidelberg?
