Don't forget about the volume of people. The satellite race was only a regional race with +-1500 entrants, mostly from Gauteng/NW. 94.7 has +-25000 entrants from the whole of SA, so don't be surprised when there could be people with better seeding than yourselves and they are slotted in before your starting group. I don't know if this is the case for each situation, but just bear this in mind.

I also appreciate the Think Bike guys, but what I observed, starting from the TM (tandems) was with the U16 guys that started 1 minute behind us, they had a pace car (from the Jacaranda Cycling club), two bike marshalls, and a support vehicle, and there were only 4 guys in the group, while we did not have one marshall.

As long as you guys are similar in strength and riding techniques, no problems at all. It will take a few rides together to get into the same rythme, but once there, all good. Mind you, I am talking from riding a tandem on the road though.
