  1. Bit of a trend here.
  2. Busy wearing this part of the mix tape out at the moment. RIP Mike Star & Layne Staley.
  3. I didn't say very strong and very fast. I said very strong very fast. I meant in a short amount of time. The OP says he wants a bike to do cardio and get the heart rate up. I think doing spinning is better for that than buying a 3k bike that's going to fall apart.
  4. My 2c from the left of the field. If you're looking at losing your boep and gaining some fitness I'd not buy a bike. At your budget it's going to be *** and you'll hate every second of it. Rather join a gym and do spinning classes. 4 of those a week will make you VERY strong very fast. Most gyms now have structured workouts where you can "race" against yourself and others to keep things entertaining. My step daughters gym uses an app called spivi which works on your ftp so you can do proper structure. It's not like the old days where you measure how welll you did based on the pool of sweat on the floor. You most certainly don't want to be riding a stationary bike in a gym. That's a waste of time and will do nothing for you.
  5. A little update on Ulf. The class type training really didn't work for him. He just wants to go and he got frustrated in that environment. So we just decided to take the pressure off and run him on the beach etc. We live close to the mountain and the beach so off we go every day. There's a doggy park close to us and I do a little ball throwing and the like with him. When we're in the doggy park I make him plats. I then make him stay and run away. I then say COME. He comes at me at full pace. I toss a ball and then he hammers the tug I'm holding. It's quite scary having this guy came at me full pace. He always draws a bit of a crowd there and the kids shouting ATTACK is quite funny. We've bought a bite sleeve and we play with that with him a few times a week. I'd like to replace the tug with the bite sleeve at the park but I think the HB dears will have a **** fit thinking I'm training an attack dog in the doggie park. We have done a bit of scent play with him in the garden where we cut a lemon in half. Hide the one half and let him sniff the other half. Then we make him soek. He's never not found it. We run with him 2-3 times a week. I've got a waist harness and a stretchy lead. If you see a fat oke running a mali in a red harness on Chappies that's us. He started reacting to cars but we've trained that out of him. If I could stop him gapping for the birds that would be nice.... I've joined a dog trailing group with him where they do trailing of crims and trailing of missing persons. He's only been to two sessions and he's doing amazingly well. We trained at Builders warehouse on Thursday and the top of Constantia last night. He already understands the job. The down side is he is so amped that he pulled me off my feet yesterday. There's another mali there. A proper working dog that's part of constantia crime watch. My dog is a maltese poodle compared to that mad thing. When he barks he bounces in his cage and literally bounces the bakkies suspension. Beautiful but scary. If you ever find yourself in the unfortunate situation where a working line mali is chasing you down run TOWARDS the handler. So WHEN it ABSOLUTELY DRILLS YOU you the handler will be nice and close to pry it off you before you lose an arm. I'm not joking.
  6. Now we know why Schumi was so much fitter than the other drivers
  7. I thought someone was moaning about the type of plug sold with their e-bike.
  8. When you sit in front of that cop and you have to sign that you understand that you are the subject of a criminal investigation it's a very serious situation. Normal people **** themselves. In real life people with real jobs and real houses and real bank accounts and families can't "get off the grid"
  9. Yes. And if the cop does even a half job the oke will have to go in and sign that he is aware of the criminal charge being laid against him. This in itself is a very scary experience for most normal humans.
  10. I had a bike stolen years ago. I bought the bike back from the person who was riding it. Long story but someone I know saw the bike being ridden and I was going to Nigeria the next day so I organized to buy the bike back. I reported the recovery to the insurance co who promptly came to my house to collect what was by then their bike as I'd been paid out. So doosie over here was out of pocket and inadvertently contributed to the bike theft problem. Not my cleverest moment but I was in love with that bike.
  11. Yes I do. Very interesting hey? There's still a small little dent but I'm going to try the glue gun and coke bottle trick on that.
  12. So in an interesting twist of fate the ding in my tailgate seems to have fixed itself. There's still a small dent with an Oakley logo in the middle of it but the fairies repaired the main big dent.
  13. If she's a vegan tell him to dump her immediately.
  14. Campy my bru. Tougher than a Ford.
  15. Runners and pedestrians are not allowed beyond the top lookout going towards Noordhoek and they are not allowed beyond where the shark spotters are from the Noordhoek side.
  16. Leaving Camps just before bootleggers there's a tight lefthander where I do the same. I make sure I occupy the corner so some genius in his chrome pink merc doesn't use me as the apex. I live in Scott Estate so in future I think the wifey and I will join chappies at Military road to avoid that bit. We also have a route through the burbs of Fishhoek to avoid Kommetjie road. It jumps in at the first church on the jesus belt, runs past the cricket club, past the School, Past the fire brigade, Over main, pops out just after the circle. We also have a hard rule that we have to clear chappies before 8.30. We've had that rule in place for a long time. primarily to avoid the busses. Coming back the rule is we have to clear Massi before 11. That's to avoid the mayhem that is massi but also to avoid the wannabe boy racers on chappies who use Black Label as a sports drink and smoke bongs to clear the mind. And we have a route through Milkwood park to avoid those 2 horrible intersections close to Long Beach mall.
  17. In this pic you can see the the cyclist wears Oakley eyewear
  18. 100% This little bit of road is so narrow and line of sight is so limited. When I encounter even a single cyclist here I don't overtake. It's way too dangerous IMO. I wait for exit of the corner and the line of sight to be clear. This first pic where the yellow square is is where the gets was overtaking the cyclists. The 2nd pic where the fiesta is is pretty much where i climbed on the brakes to avoid a head on. Anyone blessed with the gift of sight can also clearly see the white line in the pic. There's no way someone can logically argue that the Getz driver isn't the cause of this.
  19. The getz didn't hit me because i had to brake to avoid hitting him head on as he was on MY SIDE of the road. He was over the white line going around a blind corner overtaking cyclists. If it was a jcb that he was overtaking would it be the jcb driver fault for his actions? Don't blame the cyclists for him CHOOSING to go over the white line into oncoming traffic. If the getz hadn't CHOSEN to overtake illegally on a blind corner there would have been no accident. It's that simple. If I could I'd draw a picture to make it easier for you to understand.
  20. The Getz driver was over a white line around a blind corner overtaking dangerously. I'm not sure how you reached that conclusion.
  21. In what parallel universe is the person being rear ended at fault? Cmon oke. You know better than this
  22. I've got a mate in the motor trade. He's gonna get someone to knock the dent out for me. I'm not going to get all lawyery on the poor oke. His cheek looked not great and I'm fairly certain his very nice Colnago will be cracked somewhere.
  23. Probably but that's not going to happen. And pursuing the matter is just going to give me more grey hair which I can ill afford
  24. Had an incident yesterday on Chappies. This time I was (one of) the motorists. My other half and I took our dog out for a run. From the toll booth to the top and back is 5k. So we finished our run. Jump in the car and drive off. A group comes up on us and the one guy decides to use my bakkie to motorpace. Bad decision #1. Then as we're getting close to the bottom some absolute RETARD FCKWIT MORON DUMBASS in a Hyundai Getz is in my lane busy overtaking a bunch of 3 abreast cyclists. Bad decision #2 and #3. I have to come to a complete stop to avoid a head on and the motorpace guy slams straight into my bakkie. The RETARD FCKWIT MORON DUMBASS in the getz shrugs his shoulder and drives on. The guy on the bike cut his face open and the brake hoods shifted on his bars. I reckon he got away very lightly. He could easily have broken his neck on my bakkie. So 3 bad decisions. All of which I had no part in resulted in me having a hefty repair bill to my car. Joy!
