  1. So Mywoosh doesn't like my pc. I've installed it on my android phone and it seems to work. I can't connect to a tv with my phone using hdmi and the TV I use to play my workouts on is as old as the hills so no chromecast. I'll do workout this week on my phone but that really sucks. My eyes are bad enough as it is.
  2. There are self storage facilities in Geneva and Zurich (don't know where you are flying out of) Zurich has luggage storage at the airport but the pricing is... Um.... Challenging. Like the previous poster said. First prize is probably to get a fellow saffer to lug the bike back for you. You'll have to avail yourself of the luggage rates of the airline. I did this for a friend in 2019 and he paid 90Euro. We flew Turkish and that is the standard bike charge. so 2 bikes = 180 Euro. Which is actually ok. With some airlines the wording is somewhat vague and you don't actually know what you are in for when you arrive at the airport.
  3. Honestly. Chappies is *** on a superbike. the corners are too tight and they tighten up on themselves. I live in Hout Bay and I can honestly say I wish those road blocks could be there 24/7. It's truly terrifying going for a run on Chappies on a Sunday afternoon and seeing how many people are absolutely out of their tree about to get behind the wheel of a car. The bikes are loud but they are gone by mid morning. And the guys on them are at least sober.
  4. Ja I got a dll error when I tried to install. I'll try figure it out today but I'm not going to try too hard
  5. Is it working on PC now? The last time I looked it was apple devices only. *edit. Windows now supported! Let the testing commence.
  6. Ooooh. Hey fellow environmental protestors. I have an idea. Let's all get together and have a protest at a race of the ONE human activity that isn't absolutely FUNKING the planet. Idiots.
  7. ONE MILLION PERCENT. My niece once came out of a restaurant in JHB to find the "car guard" holding a torch for the oke breaking into her car.
  8. ZARS. 3k a day will give you a nice euro biking trip. A season pass for the Portes du Soleil (Morzine, Les Gets, Chatel, Morgins, Champery, Crosets) costs R5700 give or take. That's for 3 months access to 20 odd ski lifts which makes it the bargain of the century. For the Alpe Du Huez area it's cheaper. I've not been there so I don't know the scope of the area. Day passes to these ski areas cost a lot but that's the same for summer and winter. My last trip cost 23k all in. That was for 8 full days and 2 half days on arrival and departure day (Flights arrived early and left late). This was shared accommodation. My mate's girlfriend sourced rockstar cheap accommodation in the middle of town. The only caveat was no booze. Bar bills can kill your budget. Properly! Rough numbers. Flights 10k Accom 6k (self catered) lift pass 2k Airport shuttle R500 Spending cash. 5k (30 Euro a day)
  9. 30-40 euro for a day pass. Give or take depending where you are. But then it gets cheaper the more days you buy. 6 day pass +- 120 Euro. Around 5k would buy you a season pass in most resorts. If you budget on 3k a day all in you can have a very very very very nice Alps biking trip. I'm off to cry myself to sleep now. chat later.
  10. That thing isn't a ski lift mate.
  11. Been to the Portes du Soleil many times. It's a truly beautiful place. Everywhere you look is a postcard. Then there's the biggest trail network on the planet. And some ski lifts. And some amazing roads to ride.
  12. That's also stunning and I've spotted that bike before but this was a C64. I like the Concept but prefer the old school looks of the lugs and straight pipes of the C bikes.
  13. Agreed. Good lord that's ugly. I saw a Colnago C64 not that long ago at Seattle in HB. It was a beautiful blue. Google says the colorway is called Art Decor. It was so unbelievably beautiful. For me It was the best looking bicycle I've ever seen. And possibly the best looking 2 wheeled anything I've ever seen. It was so utterly beautiful that if I owned it I don't know if I could bring myself to actually ride it.
  14. I bought a pair of Kayano's and a new garmin. It says I'm still useless. It's definitely the shoes.
  15. Haha. Yes indeed. Shopping at woolies is hard work you know. Got to measure them calories and count steps.
  16. Those 5k Nike's with the carbon sole are used almost exclusively by moms pushing trolley's in the local woolies from what I see
  17. Indeed. I miss gong to Europe. It's been 4 years. Hey OP. How about buying a 150k Colnago? (dunno if that's possible) Do a trip to Bassano del Grappa and getting your Colnago there? I saw a Ferrari branded one with in a shop there and the shop was carrying them at the time. It was the main Cannondale shop in Bassano. Fly in to Venice. commuter train to Bassano. Monte Grappa is RIGHT THERE. We did the "easy" route and that's 1550m of climbing in 27 grueling km with about 200m of downhill in the entire 27km. Passo San Boldo is on the other side of the same massive mountain. The Pordoi and all the passes in that zone are within easy driving distance and so is The mighty Zoncolan (in a different direction) 30k could get you there for a week to have a honeymoon with your new lady and you can smash out some Giro climbs. It's nice deciding what to do with other peoples money.
  18. Experiences over things for me too. But someone who has 180k to drop on a bike has probably also been to those places or similar recently. The Bossi makes me fizz.
  19. 10 years later and we're watching Game of Thrones. Don't laugh. NO SPOILERS
  20. FWIW. I bought the cheapest wheel off trainer I could find just before the entire planet got lobotomized. Elite Zumo. And even tho I can't look at it right now without gagging I still think it's some of the best cycling money I've ever spent. I used it to train for Sani (the one that didn't happen) and I think i was the fittest I've ever been thanks to it. When lockdown happened I continued training as if Sani was going to happen even clocking some 100km rides in my study. Hence the gagging. I can't comment on a wheel on smart trainer but I did have a wheel on dumb trainer with the blue tire and a wheel off trainer is a MUCH more enjoyable experience. The ride feel is so so so much better. The feel of a wheel on trainer is just horrible compared to a wheel off trainer. I pretty much bounce between Zwift and Rouvy. I just time my cancellation so that I don't pay for both subscriptions
  21. This is my opinion but live racing against the clock never seems to translate well to TV. Think IOM TT, Downhill Skiing. Even World Rally. Trying to televise DH must be close to impossible. Mega niche sport that no one wants to pay to see. Spread out over a vast area. On a mountain in the middle of nowhere for the most part. And the athletes aren't exactly household names. EWS. Even more niche. Spread over an even bigger area and over a longer timeframe.
  22. If you want my (limited) insights I'm happy to help. I'm not done with Mallorca. Next time Camper Van though.
  23. Mmmmmm. Mallorca. Sa Calobra. What a road.
  24. One of those trucks converted to an overland bus things AAAAAAALMOST clipped my better half on that first left hand corner on Chappies about 4 years ago. PR's all the way to the 2nd lookout where I gave the driver a proper piece of my mind. Some German tourist lady tried to intervene but her husband wisely pulled her back. I emailed the owner of said Truck/bus company on the Monday. No response. We resolved after that incident that we ABSOLUTELY HAVE to be clear of Chappies by 8.30 before the busses come. And on the way back before 11.30 before the boy racers in their fiesta's come.
  25. Up is fine. Compared to running down the DH trail with Eye of the Tiger playing on repeat through your buds... Not so clever.
