Little snappies from yesterdays early morning session at Derdes. Loaner Board circa 2018. The lender doesn't know this yet but he's going to have to pry this out of my cold dead hands to get it back. Hands down the best groveler I've ever ridden.

Some snappies from down the beach the other day. I surfed a MUCH BIGGER day down there just before Xmas that was TRULY terrifying. Proper survival mode stuff. The one paddle out after getting washed to the beach took 40 minutes. You just have to paddle and try find a keyhole to get through when it's like that. I only got one noteworthy wave but what I saw will live with me forever.

Yes indeed. So it's basically a spinning bike with a power meter. I looked at a youtube review and it also appears to have been made from tin foil and 2nd hand cardboard boxes. Apologies for wasting everyone's time. As you were.

He's a trailing dog bru. If your cat goes missing we get called in to find it. We haven't refined the bit when he finds the cat and kills it yet. There's some refinement needed there.

I bought a building site cunningly disguised as a house. I also bought a dog that's actually meant for the military. But the primary reason is I'm surfing again which eats up all my spare time.

Runners aren't allowed between those gates at the top of chappies and the one's at the hoek. So if you encounter one of those fks along there you are within your rights to pepper spray them. it's the law. 😄

It suck balls to run on a pavement. And on that stretch it must be a nightmare. But yes you can.

You can't run on the pavement. There's people pushing prams, licking icecream etc. Personally I wouldn't run along that road I would run on the walk between Muizenberg & St James if I was going to run along there but only VERY early before people arrive. Funny story. I'm guessing it was around 1989. A mate of mine and myself were lifting (I was on the handlebars). We went for a surf check at Kalk Bay. We were ON THE PAVEMENT and we got knocked over by a COP VAN opposite the St James tidal pool.

No man. Don't let this opportunity go by. Doing a DIY just adds to the exitement. You might literally never be in Rome again. The internet is flooded with info on this stuff. Tell your wife you want a morning to go cycling. She loves you. she wants you to have a good time. But put as much effort in to planning an activity for the 2 of you as you do for the ride. She also wants to know she's #1 Use the googles to figure out a bike shop you can rent a bike from and use that tour operators routes as a guide for designing the thing yourself. Rent that Dogma or Basso for the day. It is Italy after all. Take a kit, pedals, your saddle and GPS. Also get your measurements. The rental bike shop will get it in the ballpark but don't sweat it. Take your own tape measure and get your saddle height right. You've probably got a gps. put the route on that and off you go. Worst case you get lost and it's a 50 euro cab ride back. The town square. Duh. My gps didn't have maps it was a breadcrumb thing. I then mapped them from that starting point. downloaded them to the gps and that's what we did. I kind of had a rough idea of where we needed to go. But we followed the GPS pretty much. We did the exact same thing in Mallorca. For Mallorca I also bought a map before the trip and we did a bit more freestyling there. When we got home I framed the map. sweat stains and all. Every time i go upstairs I look straight at that map and go back to that trip. PS. It's K@K cold in Europe at that time of year on a bike so get some leg & arm warmers, Put tinfoil in your shoes and get some thermal gloves and a Gilet.

Me too. I rode a mate's Trek Rail at Jonkers. TUUUURBOO all the time. I was giggling riding up Irish. On the down's leave it in POOOWER mode. You can duff a corner and be back up to speed in 2 pedal strokes. So so so much fun. I wounldnt get a road ebike or one of those pretending to be a normal bike ebikes. Full cream. as much suspension as possible self propelled downhill bike. That's what I would be after. It's like having your own private ski lift.

I watched highlights of the Singapore TDF Criterium. Erm. Yeah.... Local rider and a few others in the break. Which gets reeled in with 3 laps to go Cav wins the sprint category The TDF yellow jersey somehow wins a criterium Froome 2nd and Nibali 3rd. Honestly tho. Who cares? I'd love to see those legends in a exhibition race around a criterium in CT. Sport is entertainment and that was entertaining.

IMO. There's 2 types of bike racer. 1. Casual joes. The behavior around these people has changed. And why wouldn't it? Waking up at 4am to crap in a porta loo and "race" for 4876th place around the saaaaaame old loop of brown scenery around the back of Durbanville with no road closure sucks balls. Cycling is supposed to be fun. That's not fun. Also. The lack of road closure means your chances of being taken out by a car aren't lower. But your chances of being taken out by a fellow cyclist are significantly higher. My wife's broken arm would attest to this. 2. The proper racers. There are races for these guys. I've got a mate who races all the time. League races, Crit races, Killarney twice a week. Yes that's a race. He says he doesn't do zwift racing anymore coz everyone cheats. This phenomenon of if you own a bicycle you MUST race it seems to be a bit of a uniquely South African phenomenon and I honestly don't understand it.

Ok so serious question. Would any of you plonkers want to watch bits of stage 13, 14 and 15 live? As in there. In person. Not on the tele. You'd only watch the start of stage 15 which starts in Les Gets. Les Gets is about 2km from Morzine. I used to do mtb tours to Morzine as many of you know but my mate still organizes group accommodation and I'm sure he'd be happy to accommodate a few leg waxers. It's unlikely to be cheap and the town will book out FAST so send me a DM and I'll get him onto it. BTW I've been there on a road bike and there's a LOT more than just the Joux Plane. There's actually a very good road book that the tourist info guys have put together for road routes around the area. Oh and then there's the small matter of the largest linked lift accessed trail network in the world.
