  1. BTW. There's a hack to ride the new France routes. You edit 2 xml files and make them read only and off you go. I think this is only for windows tho. I don't think you can access xml files in Apple TV. Or if they even exist.
  2. I have that too from time to time. From what I understand that's to do with your internet connection. I actually don't mind it coz all the riders dissappear and I have Zwift to myself.
  3. OK so this then fits into the guidelines by the WHO. I wonder if the you're a murderer glares will stop. Everyone on here knows what vigorous exercise is. Apart from maybe (insert bitchy comment here)
  4. We try to route it that the out run is on lit roads and on the way back there should be enough light to see. Unfortunately the amount of non functioning lights in the area is rising at an alarming rate. We are also routinely getting out earlier (around 6.30) at the moment which means our runs are almost entirely in the dark. I guess headlamps are going on the shopping list. I have to say. Riding in the dark I DO NOT ENJOY AT ALL. I feel super vulnerable. Even with 1600 lumens on the front of my bike and a rear light that lights up more than a brothel. Running in the dark feels fine and being out at that time of day really is incredible.
  5. I use a normal desk with a laptop and TV on it. My water bottle is in the bottle cage where it should be. My phone goes in the cutaway of my guitar which is hanging on the wall next to me.
  6. Thanks. I've not used a headlamp before so this is helpful. I guess I'm going to have to sort out a headlamp or 2. The reason I'm angling towards the gopro shoulder mount is coz our cycling lights are gopro mount compatible. Pretty much all of our runs at least start in the dark. Don't laugh. Currently I'm zip tying a 500 lumen light to the shoulder strap of a small hydration pack. I also put my rear light from my bike on my pack.
  7. Wishing you many happy virtual miles. I've got a Zumo which I'm very happy with. Regarding the training platforms the obvious one is Zwift but don't discount others such as fulgaz, Rouvy etc. Most have a free trial period. I was fully into Rouvy but I'm currently on Zwift. Remember you aren't married to any of the programs so switching about can definitely make life better. Just remember to time your cancellation/switching on so that you don't end up paying for 2 platforms at the same time. Also you don't know which your favorite flavor of suffering will be until you give them all a bash. Plus right now the full version of RGT is completely free.
  8. question time. I do most of my shuffling early in the morning. I've zip tied a light to my little hydration pack but I see I can get a gopro shoulder mount (my light uses a gopro fitting) Do any of you run with lights? Looking for something that doesn't go onto my head.
  9. Suddenly the idea to unload one of our spots and buy in Elands Bay doesn't seem like such a bad idea.....
  10. The chances of all your stuff exploding out all over the road and having to run into the road with cleats on to collect your stuff is much lower too.
  11. You have to buy a ciovita kit. But it's their race fit so if you're a fatass like me don't even ask.
  12. There's an issue with windows 10, the bluetooth drivers and certain devices. I found an article that spoke about bluetooth speakers and a windows 10 update. I had this problem on both of my laptops. Sourced a BT dongle and the problem was solved.
  13. Hey. Yes you should have done an ftp test. You can do one any time and the plan will adjust itself to your ftp
  14. Terrible timing and zero planning on our part. But the bed was warm and so was the coffee. So we only had ourselves to blame.
  15. GOOD. It's about time the police started doing real police work instead of harassing people for walking of the beach. Now if someone could tell the 6 metro cop cars that seem to be permanently stationed at HB beach to get off their substantial arses and do some actual police work that would be nice.
  16. I'm afraid I have to agree with you here. It's pointless buying a trainer that you are going to hate and end up not using. Elite Suito/Kikr Core. The feel of a wheel off trainer makes it worth it. Yes it's a hearty amount of money but compared to a good treadmill or rowing machine they are actually well priced. And take up much less room. I have a dumb giant trainer gathering dust in my garage and words cannot describe how absolutely crap that thing is to use. My wheel off Suito gets used weekly.
  17. There's LLLLOAAADDSSS in the forest behind Suikerbossie. But don't tell anyone. Yesterday we were a bit lazy getting out. We must have missed the memo coz by the time we got out the roads around HB were a racetrack. Fast bikes slow bikes loud bikes BMW's in convoy VW's in convoy Fkin DATSUNS Honda S2000's in convoy You get the picture. Lots of bad juju on the road. We got to just after Landudno and there was a guy waving all the Valentino's and Lewis's to slow down and we thought screw this and bailed on our ride. I'm all for enjoying the roads but that's not a god damned racetrack. And most of the guys on bikes can't ride.
  18. Loving loving loving it. The amount of cars parked at Constantia Neck is astounding. I predicted that everyone would retreat back to the couch when the 6-9 window came to and end but I'm ecstatic that I was wrong.
  19. @ the OP. In all seriousness. I know there are companies that will sort everything out for you. Entry, accommodation, etc. I did do a little reaserch into it a while ago. The event itself is a culmination of a whole week. There's a qualifying race that takes place the day before which defines which pen you start in. And even if you don't qualify you still get to ride the event. You just don't do the mass start mayhem. I'd go to a bike park close by for a week before to get your eye in and get accustomed to the type of riding. Then hook onto one of the sort everything out companies. That's not the cheapest way of doing it but probably the most effective.
  20. The Go pro videos don't do justice to how steep that stuff is. Go spend a few weeks in a EURO bike park and then go the next year. That's my advice.
  21. There's a hack you can do where you edit an xml file which gets you in. I did it today and did half of Ventoux but I had to work so I cut it short.
  22. Has anyone tried out the new France routes on Zwift?
  23. If you can only have one then the watch wins coz you can use it for more than just the bike. Get one of those bar mount goodies.
  24. Same. I'm looking at taking up a cheaper sport. Like funding my own WSBK team.
  25. That's how I originally had it but I took Froome out coz he's leaving and he's not really a sure bet at this point. But you'd be brave to bet against that guy.
