  1. There's 3 Grand Tours and they have 3 GC winners with Froome leaving. IMO the way the year is shaping up is custom made for Ineos and their depth. TDF: Bernal Giro: Gee Vuelta: Carapaz
  2. At that pricepoint don't discount a 2nd hand spinning bike. you won't eat tires and your drivetrain and IMO the heavy flywheel gives a smoother better feeling.
  3. I have a Zumo. Which from what I understand is the precursor to the Suito. Very happy. I did have one issue where I left it plugged in for 3 or so weeks without use and it would not connect and the lights on the trainer were flashing in a way I'd not seen before. Unplugged it and plugged it back in and off we went. I now shut down my laptop and unplug the trainer after every session. I have read and seen a youtube that said the the power readings on suito trainers are off (harder) when riding in RGT and Rouvy but it's difficult for me to say. 12% felt hard like it does in real life. If anything Zwift at 6% feels a little too easy. Sorry I don't want to derail your thread and make it about the various platforms. It's the only wheel off trainer I've owned but I am more than happy with mine. Clearance for long cage derailleurs is not a problem and I've run my road and trail bike on it. Swapping the gubbins out is a 5 minute job. Boost requires an adapter that does not come in the box.

  5. That's so interesting! It turns out that's the town where the Schengen agreement was signed. I did not know that.
  6. I've not owned Cura's but I have ridden them. I've owned 3 sets of Hope brakes. My mate has a pair of Cura 2's on his DH bike. I had a run on the bike in France and I was shocked at the stopping power of them. Even on long alpine descents. No fade. Immense power. I've never ridden more powerful brakes. And that includes Shimano Saint, Hope V2 and Hope M4's. Of course at the time I chose to buy TRP Slates which are 100% total crap. If I was in the market for aftermarket brakes my shopping list would have Cura 2 at the top of the list. The Cura 4's must be like riding into a wall every time you pull the lever.
  7. They should just have lots of #notarace's. The riders are already there. Pick a track and go #notrace it
  8. The Les Gets MTB world cup has just been cancelled. That's in September and has FAR less spectators than the tour. I PRAY I'M WRONG. But I don't see the tour going ahead this year. I LOOOOOOVE watching it and seeing the dreamy landscapes of France. In 2010 there was a stage finish at Avoriaz that Andy Schleck won. I was mesmerized. That day sparked my love affair with France and Morzine.
  9. I've got Stamps on my trail bike and stratlines on my DH bike. I find my feet do move around a bit more on the stamps. But not to where it feels dangerous. Regarding strength I BLIKSEMMED a rock with then a while ago and had the biggest OTB of my life. I bent my crank arm but the pedal was fine. Having said that my mate who also has stamps snapped a pedal 2 weeks ago. Scary moment for sure.
  10. I've got freeriders and the "new" impact lows. I had a pair of the old impacts until they finally disintegrated about 2 years ago 5.10 freeriders are not great for longer rides. IMO the sole is too thin and the shoes are too flexy for big days out. I don't think an insole is going to make a discernible difference.
  11. On a motorbike I'll only wear an Arai or a Shoei.
  12. Fortunately you can't go fast enough on a Harley to actually hurt yourself. This thread is miss titled. It should be Helmet Replacement An opportunity to buy a new lid every 3 years.
  13. Head says. Bernal Heart Says. Roglic France need a win. Pinot I like. Tommy D But the way things are shaping up I'd be happy to cheer for a Floyd Landis, LA and Cam Jeffers podium.
  14. Old does not equal classic.
  15. Sorry. I can't with dirty bar tape. No man. Just get black if you can't keep the light colors clean. SIES!!
  16. Forget buffs and masks. I'd be EXTREMELY worried if my HR stayed elevated by 20 beats 3 hours after exercise and my chest felt uncomfortable. You REALLY should see a doctor about that.
  17. I wonder if there's a clue in their pics being taken at a lift access bike park..........?
  18. I was riding with a mate on one of those zerode's. He had a crash and that was it. Gearbox locked up. Walk to the car. Ride over It was quite a big crash tho to be fair. And he does crash a lot. Like. A LOT!
  19. NONE!! Absolutely loving them thanks. My fiance got herself a pair of Gel Nimbus 22's from the same shop.
  20. This is kind of where I find myself. the 1.5-2.5 zone is easily achievable without feeling dead the next morning. Thanks for the insights.
  21. Ok let me issue the following disclaimer. I ain't no athlete. More of a way below average joe who likes to do a little sweating. Currently the running is taking preference. Maybe it's coz it's the new shiny thing. Before LD I would do 2 spinning classes during the week and that provided the intensity. Currently the running is doing that. I'm really kuk at it so all running is at a high intensity for me I don't do free riding in zwift. I'm on a program but there's no way I'd be able to maintain the high intensity sessions in zwift as well as get up at 5.30 the next morning to run. So I've lied to zwift and dropped my ftp in the program to still do the "miles" but at a lower intensity. Indeed. I aspire to being called a jogger. I'm more of a shuffler at the moment. Sorry for all the stupid questions. The last time i did any running my first name was Troep.
  22. If I may ask a question from the knowers? I'm currently running around 18 km a week. 2*5k during the week and an 8k on the weekend. I know that's mikey mouse. The running really really takes it out of me but I am loving it and I have no intention of stopping. My concern is around my cycling. I do a bit of IDT work on Zwift during the week. What I've done is drop my FTP on zwift for my workouts so I'm effectively training at a lower intensity in Zwift. My HR still gets into the red but I'm not killing myself. Do you peeps think I'm negatively affecting my cycling by doing this? Am I wasting my time? Should I just can the IDT sessions? I really can't see myself training any harder at this point and I'm happy to be in a maintenance phase with the cycling at the moment.
  23. Sorry for the loss guys. Eyes will be kept open. That Merida in the 3rd pic used to belong to me. (I think) Glad to still see it out on the road.
  24. I'd rather use the bleeding stumps of my ankles where my amputated feet used to be.
  25. Wellgo Beartraps. I wanted a pair more than I wanted my next breath. You can still get them. But truthfully they look a little kuk by modern standards.
