  1. Did a different type of riding yesterday. Little Elands trip with the lads. Some fun was had. Sore ribs this morning.

Remember when Jorge broke his collar bone at Assen in free practice and rode to 5th on the Sunday? I was never a fan but you have to respect that.
  3. Yissie. Dirt cheap and Look Keo cleat too.
  4. The Ryder pedals use the Look cleat system so you get the Look system without the Look price. Although entry level Looks are pretty cheap at around R1000. If you are a newby I'd advise on Looks over Shimano. The shimano system is far more robust but the look cleat engagement feels better and more positive IMO. My fiance tried to run the shimano's and really struggled with the clip in action. We got her some looks (they were meant to be for me) and she was much happier on them. I've since switched to look just because we do all of our roadie riding together and it just seems safer to be running the same cleating system. I can't comment on Time @Chadvdw67. Keep at it. I also run flats on all my mountain bikes You just can't run flats on a roadie. It's aganst the law. The sketchy feeling you are getting is probably less to do with the pedals and more to do with that scrawny little tire and lack of suspension. Road bikes are Sketchy as hell compared to mountain bikes but you'll get into it. Look vs Shimano Look Advantages - engagement feels better IMO - even entry level pedals are light Disadvantages - cleats wear quickly if you walk in them - pedals don't feel as robust as shimano Shimano Advantages - Your grandchildren will be leaving them to their grandchildren

I love the guy but that was bit of a false dawn. That French Teenager is making the factory boys look average. And Marc will be back soon.
  6. Ja. I bought my bike back from a scumbag. I notified my insurer and they came to collect. I had a Utopian thought in my head that they would just let me have it. My insurer had a blind auction. I decided not to bid on "my" bike. Paying 3 times for the same bike didn't feel like a good idea.
  7. What came of this? Did the police go get the bike or were they too busy stopping people from buying cigarettes?
  8. Just a heads up. This is a lesson learned through bitter experience. If insurance pays up for your bike and you spot someone on it, it does not belong to you. You can try to recover it but it legally belongs to the insurance company. And if you pay money to recover the bike you're knowingly buying stolen property. Which is a criminal offence. Also the insurance company will recover the bike from you and you will lose the money paid over.
  9. I'm in the same boat. My advice is keep an eye on the classifieds. You should be able to get a decent 2nd hand set of carbon wheels for under 7k. Not tubulars tho. Well I don't want tubulars.
  10. Out of interest, what OS are you running on your laptop? And what training software are you using?
  11. I really enjoyed it. It took me from absolutely nowhere to not completely useless. And when the gym opens I'll be back solving the water crisis with my sweat. But the shuffling has added a WHOOOOLE new level of intensity.
  12. Yissie that feels like a lifetime ago.
  13. I can only speak for myself here but last year this time I would have been in a spinning class 3 times a week. 4 if it was raining on Sunday. Now I'm outdoors. Mostly running in the early mornings but outdoors non the less.
  14. Ja but the hub spacing might be a teeni tiny bit off. I have/had the same issue with my zumo and I've fiddled a bit by using those cassette spacers. It's a bit better but by no means is it perfect. Oddly I only experience this when I'm in the big ring. It's not REALLY an issue for me coz I do workouts 99% of the time so there's no changing of gears.
  15. That oakley lid looks pretty rad.
  16. Government doesn't work like this. You see, you need someone on hand to take cash. That way you have the potential for theft. Then because of the theft Sanparks gets to ask for more budget. And also there's a commission of inquiry which takes several months which employs a multitude who sit around and do nothing except eat a free lunch. The lunch of course is put out to tender and miraculously goes to a family member of a sanparks official who provides cheese and tomato sandwiches at R466 a pop and a tin of Ricoffee and long life milk for R12000. No. R18000. Each. The sandwiches are rejected by the commission and they buy KFC every day for the duration of the party commission. Halfway through the commission they demand that their S&T be upped from R500 a day to R1000. They go on a rampage destroying offices and computers. The tender for the resupply goes to a family member. The commission of inquiry wraps up and no one gets fired. They resolve to teach the thief a lesson by employing their cousin to make sure they don't steal more cash.......
  17. If you can't source locally then these guys are a good bet. https://pilo.co.il/catalogsearch/result/?q=spicy I've bought hangers for off beat frames from them before.
  18. What happens if there's a whole bunch of positives on day 10? Do they call it and whoever is in yellow wins?
  19. That's the only nice picture you've dropped in the last 2 days.
  20. Yes yes. Happy Wanderers, Scotborough, Jeffreys Bay, Nelspruit, George, Plett, Algeria, Greyton etc etc etc. My parents had a caravan my whole life while I was growing up. I'm all camped out. You guys camp. I'll be in the Airbnb.
  21. The only thing a caravan is good for is a bit of kindling for a braai.
