jhb's best kept secret for open water swimming , cristal clean and clear with two boys on each end 400m apart . its part of the scout club and if you go swim there you need to just get access from them . been there plenty and its a beautiful quary . its fenced off so its pvt property but they should let you in , i have never had a problem getting access.

in the 90's Harley Davidson tried to distance themselfs from the " lawbreaks " who loved the brand ( saying this is not what they were about ) . along with this new direction and the new type bikes they were bringing out ( water cooled as apossed to classic Harley aircooled ) These riders that opposed this startted a fad "FTF " (F%^&k the Factory ) buy flipping the logos to show there dislike to the new way . My 2c contribution to the hub for the next few weeks .

Good grief , I been cycling for 25 odd years and I remember the days when we could not wait to go get our silly number out in the sticks and race whatever was put in front of us as best we could . we all just loved the sport and nobody bitched .no days everyone has a gripe about EVERY thing , too hard , to technical, to flat, too steep , no water points, no chicken burgers , bottle necks , tar is to black , sand is too dusty ,my goodie bag has no free cream for my soft ass skin , wtf , bla bla bla . when did our cycling society becomes such whinges ?

Leon , you need to have fun on your bike . rule number one ! Enter 3 or 4 big races throught the year ( one at the biginning , keeps you going through dec ) ( one in the middle , keeps you going through winter ) ( one at the end , keeps you going all year round ) Ride with friends often , those rides are the ones that dont feel like training but are a blast , stop have coffee , have fun . Oh and but new **** all the time , nothing like new stuff to get you out on the bike . Ps , build a single speed :-) ( we have had this chat )

To Add Michelle Lombary - XC / DH Chris Nixon - XC / DH These names where not only riders from the day who did most of the disaplines but who started the Mtb scene in the country and got its off to where it is today . they had huge following in the first days of mtb when people had no idea what a mtb was.

Ok so not sure where to place this . but my rides are getting costly of late cause I seem to keep losing things , lights , cells and most recently this Pump. I lost the pump at Modderfontien and this is a shot in the dark at seeing if anyone has picked it up or may see it . I would really appreciate it back as it was a gift . Thanks
