I'm in the process (at least in my mind) of sorting out the build for my next bike which will be a steel CX frame and fork. I'll be going 1x10 with a Woolftooth 42 on the front and an 11-27/8 105/Ultegra cassette on the back. RD and shifters are Ultegra and brakes will be Avid BB7. A carbon FSA k-wing bar will do duty on a EA70 stem. Seatpost will be an EA70 with the wheelset and seat still to be decided on.

Did Dirk ride? He started behind me at Avalanche for some unknown reason and on all 3 stages came flying past me like a bat out of hell!!

What I've learnt now is that prior to mounting these and Conti Protection tyres is, take a scrubbing brush and some soapy water and scrub the insides of the tyres to get rid of the left over residue from the manufacturing process. The tyres then seal a lot easier and don't have the multiple "needle like" holes.

My RR's also leak slightly.There was a topic posted a while back where I showed some photos. I've now learnt, if the leaking stops, I've run out of Stans.

I plastidipped my *cough roadbike cough* and it seems to be holding up reasonably well.

When we were there 2 weekends ago, there were a couple of tjops cycling against the traffic on the main loop. I don't know whether they were just repeating hills or wanted a shortcut back to the carpark.

Perfect terrain for mountain biking and with what seems to be a thriving MTB club in Tzaneen, I'm actually surprised that there is only 1 race a year in that area.

Good meeting you EZRider. It was a tough race with all that mud but thankfully it was cool and overcast which helped tremendously. Strava recorded 79.6km with 2338m of climbing! Excellent training for Attakwas!

I was happy with my E112. Did both half and full IM's on it as well as a number of duathlons.
