I understand and agree but there may have been reasons why not and no-one is telling his side of the story (if there is one).

So everybody assumes that because Eric has a kitchen etc, he should have stepped into the breach and when he doesn't he gets lambasted (pardon the pun). Did Dimitri approach Erik to help out? Was Erik made aware of the food issues? Has anyone asked Erik his side of the story?

So Erik gets blamed for not stepping in and supplying a food service at the last minute when the race organiser cocks it up again?? I would imagine that you'll all be looking for a new venue for next years 24hr.

Dips, you can't blame Eric, he doesn't organise the 24hr. That rests squarely on Dimtri's shoulders and also why we didn't enter this year. Saddens me to see that despite all the criticism last year, they had similar problems this year.

I don't think it's good business sense from Specialized but it's storm in a tea cup, it will blow over and wont effect Spez's profitability.

We passed through there this morning just before the race finished and judging from the numbers, it didn't look as busy as last year.

I equate a 70.3 4 weeks before IM with doing a marathon 4 weeks before Comrades but as its only a 21k on the legs, I'd tend to agree with Metzet and go and race it.

I'm only doing the Valencia races but will be on my SS. Probably running a 19 on the back with phatt tyres.

It looks like Thule are "paddling" away with it at the moment with Haglofs in 2nd Seagate haven't moved in 4 hours, or their tracker has died and Merrel lying in 4th.

A Dark Zone is when the teams are not allowed to race and have to sit around doing nothing. Typically on a paddling leg that has rapids.

I see that Merrel have shot up the leaderboard and are doing brilliantly.

I still haven't decided whether I'm taking the SS down or the XC bike but I'm leaning towards the XC bike.
