  1. Perfectly valid question haha! My mtb setup still uses both brakes individually, so no need for extra stopping power there. I don't think I'll ever get one on a mtb either, since Hope already make the perfect solution for mountain bikes... Both my roadies are rim brake, and I'm not planning on getting a disc roadie soon. When I get a disc road bike, I think the Outbraker might have a place.
  2. I have now, thanks! I look forward to trying it out someday!
  3. I actually think this is the ONE instance where shimano has the potential to work better. The thumb lever is a little bit of a reach on the bottom ergo... Not that I would ever do such a despicable thing to any of my road bikes as actually fit a shimano group..... Can't beat how smooth that 20yr-old Campy is though.
  4. So I didn't have another cable splitter and bar-end shifter when I built the Alpina, and I was also curious to see if there's a better way to set up my cockpit. I like the fact that there's no extra cost involved with this setup, and having individual brake modulation is also a plus. That being said, the rear brake is mostly mush..... Other similar setups seem to have the bottom lever routed to the front break, and then the cables take a more direct route to their destinations. I guess this helps with the "mushiness" of the brake associated with the bottom lever. Routing the cables like that just looks horrid though. I would almost go as far to say it's worse than having a saddle bag... In light of the above-mentioned horridness, a mushy rear brake isn't too big of a deal... Please excuse my wrapping job........ Top view. I also started adding a pipe clamp to the area my hook rests on, to keep it from wandering of the handlebar.. I think I'm leaning more towards the cable splitter and only one lever, though it's not a big enough issue that I'll be switching the Alpina over soon.
  5. I must say, I am really impressed with how comfy the steel rides. It's noticeably smoother to ride than my carbon/alu Trek, even though it's on 25mm's vs the 28's on the Trek.
  6. Got that Alpina finished. Really happy with how it came out!
  7. I went through Sturgis last year shortly after the rally. The aftermath did NOT make it seem like something I'd like to be part of.... Not to mention the housing most of the bikers had to stay in..... I guess that's the price you pay for the experience haha
  8. I can even feel that in my hand that isn't there.................
  9. Seriously!? I thought I was special in this sense. Now it seems I'm just like everyone else. You damn racist bigot, how dare you make me feel less special!!!!!
  10. I used Courier guy via Rush for a frame recently. It came out cheaper than the quote on xoc. Netwerk Koeriers is also great. Bought 5x 18" tires, and had them shipped overnight from JHB to UPT for like R550...
  11. Even if all filters are unblocked, the problem still isn't resolved.
  12. Same here. Noticed it last night, but figured it'd be fixed by morning....
  13. Could I please have your address? I'd like to send some used toilet paper that way.
  14. Damn you. I'm not supposed to lust. And you're leading me into temptation. Not cool.
  15. Dear Wayne. This is Kalahari. I have been struggling with an unknown disease for a number of years now. No doctor has been able to prescribe a cure. My symptoms are near identical to what you have described above. You have me worried. Have you perhaps found a cure for this disease? I am desperate at this point - I even went to see a homeopath the other day, but alas. I am seeing a Herbalife consultant in the near future to discuss further options. So far the only thing that seems to alleviate my symptoms, is buying more bicycles and carbon bicycle parts. This has made my bank account display my current balance in a "-red" font. I don't like this change, since I am slightly OCD, and the red does not match well with the rest of the colours on the website. On the plus side, the red numbers increase each time I alleviate my condition. Please help, I am hopeless! Your dear friend, The Moth
  16. Pricing's gone up quite a bit since I last checked though...Must be the rand...
  17. List it for that in the classifieds, and if nobody's bought it in a month lower the price...
  18. Bicycle. Coffee. Sunrise. What more could one ask for...?
  19. Tell you what. I'll buy that Curve of yours. Just to help you cover the costs and shipping of the Unno. Because I'm so nice.
  20. We discussing feminine hygiene products on the Hub now!? Well I guess that shouldn't surprise me....
