    It needs power to control the resistance electronically. So then you press the buttons on the head unit and it changes resistance. I guess you could try just connecting the cable directly from the trainer to the computer, bypassing the head unit. Mine doesn't work from the computer when I do that, so I just connect it anyway.

    I have a similar(Elite) trainer. LAN cable from trainer to the little head unit, and then a printer cable from the head unit to the computer.

    Got the MTB sorted. Trick is to disengage the elbow mechanism and lock it manually. Then it simply became a case of mounting the LHS brake lever on the right! I won't be riding anything technical with this setup, but for our "kanaalpad" it works just perfect...
