  1. Bushwhacking on schoonwater farm, slaaiheok rd, Belfast area. There's also a great set of trails laid out at Misty Valley Lodge, which is nearby. If you are in the area, it's worth a visit (especially at R35 for a DAY).

  4. Looks like the school sniffle season has started early in 2015. My daughter has already had it and she gave it to me. Not too serious (no riding) but doesn't seem to want to disappear completely. This year, I am having both flu shots EARLY and taking ALL my Vits.
  5. My cardiologist recommended zinc-selenium tablets for boosting your immune system.
  6. nice review of the day - keep em coming
  7. he's got the moves
  8. Basically, the brans complement one another - in essence, if you can afford the Epic, you can afford a new Land Rover. Same idea with the asset managers and pvt banks sponsoring races: they figure that if you can blow R60k on a BIKE and accessories, and R10k on a race, you MUST be a rich oke.
  9. JUCA's heart may be in the right place but "profiles of commuter cyclists" like this won't endear them to ANYBODY: "3. Do you feel cycling is dangerous? Why or why not? I usually jump red lights, and take nasty gaps – that’s sometimes dangerous! It could be considered relatively safe because you know the road, the routes (ie, where to get on the shoulder etc) and you know your bike but then it’s really unsafe because sometimes there are open manholes, road construction or bad drivers. The worst are aggressive drivers, sometimes on Jan Smuts going down hill, when cars have a whole 2 lanes to over take me they still want to get nasty because I’m playing it safe and taking up a whole lane."
  10. The only issue I have is that they are a pain in @rse to fit on roval (Spez) rims but, as you (if you are the dude in the shop on Sat) mentioned on Saturday, that could be fixed with proper UST rims. Thanks for fixing the tyre, BTW. Rode 66kms on Sunday and the problem with the valve / leakage appears to be resolved.
  11. I'll second that the WTB Wolverines are superb tyres.
  12. Marius, I received the conti's from easybike today, so they definitely have stock in 29ers
  13. Thanks - I am hoping they will work as well as my current WTB's. UPDATE on Easybike order: Ordered: 06 March Received: today, 10 March Considering there was a weekend in between - basically 48 hours! Great service.
  14. no, 29ers. that's a pain, as they took my money...and I need the tyres by next week. any idea on timing? Re the x-kings, have you tried lying the wheel on its side overnight? apparently that works for the sidewalls.
  15. cheapest way to make the best coffee - http://www.yuppiechef.com/hario.htm?id=11709&name=Hario-V60-Range-Ceramic-Coffee-Dripper-2-4-Cup also get the hario papers. free delivery in SA. I would also recommend getting a BURR (not blade) coffee grinder - they start at about ZAR1200 / 1500 for electric and ZAR500 for manual.
  16. Just ordered new conti's - race king 2.2 and x-king 2.4, both "protection", from easybike will provide some feedback soon.
