  1. Moan, moan, bitch and whine...say what you like but, without USN, there'd be bugger-all in most races' goody bags...
  2. Saw lots of these bikes in Kenya recently while up there. They were carrying huge loads on unimaginably bad roads. These bikes WORK!
  3. ...and the donkeys outnumber the human spectators on Stage 1.... Please keep the great updates coming!
  4. A true South African GREAT.
  5. After much research, I replaced my much-loved WTB's with Continental Protection Race King 2.2 ® and X-King 2.4 (F). . The Race King at the rear lasted 30mins at Hakahana on Sunday before suffering a fatal, terminal sidewall cut. We hadn't even STARTED on the rocky enduro lines yet... . Perhaps, it was bad luck but it felt like setting fire to a small pile of R50 notes...
  6. I'll be honest and admit that my riding partner and I discussed at 06h00 on Saturday morning and decided to NOT race due to the weather conditions and the possibility of a bike looking like the pic above ^^^. There's Dullstroom next weekend and training for a big race at the end of the month, so the possibility of a stuffed ($$$) bike or an injured body did not make sense.
  7. great review - thank you. put this race on the bucket list!
  8. Do you recommend a local concrete like PPC or should I get imported stuff like Lafarge?
  9. is that a LEFTY?
  10. great review - what's the head angle on the 29er?
  11. sad news...not good for the sport when a major sponsor withdraws - whatever the reason.
  12. Yowzers - that's a lot of technical gobbledygook!
  13. that's why you strap it to the handlebar?
  14. YIP, with the rand down the toilet, there are going to be some mighty surprised looks when 2016 prices are revealed...
  15. Is this trip still happening in 2015? Are there any plans for a 2016 trip? thanks
  16. So, in our lovely and blessed land, we are not safe even during EVENTS any more? . W.T.F.
  17. I have owned a pack in this range for 8 months, which I bought to alleviate back pressure (I have a stuffed back / fusion). I can recommend the pack, as it really DOES shift the weight to your hips and off your back. It sits nice and snug and never shifts or sloshes around. The pack has held up to use and abuse, and works as a half-decent back protector in wipeouts. Only downside is that the hip pockets are hard to open and close while riding/racing and have got progressively harder to access. Whether this is due to design, abuse or simply wear and tear is hard to determine. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
  18. Looks like ORANGE is the new colour for 2015/6 - the new Stumpy also has orange flavours, incl an orange fork.
  19. what pressures are the tyres inflated to?
  20. 2015 Stumpy? Are you happy with her?
  21. - if you could see my SKINNY legs, you would LAUGH!
  22. I understand the technical reasons, chainstay length, weight, complexity etc but how the hell are we going to get the bikes UP TO THE TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN?
