Yep that was my worry but i will go for a burn and avoid any depth.

Cool will look into that. Just a fun project have the bike laying around so time to play and try somthing different.

Will test. And what to use to get a gray etching salt or vinegar? . Salt for the first etch to get the depth or outlines.

Cool i will give it a bash. Frame is yellow and blue but i am going to strip the paint and polish.

Not going to dip the frame but maybe the earbud route.

Hey Buff, i am going to hijack for a guick question. I was on YouTube found your video on etching. Want to know if you have etched the decals on a frame? Have a De Rosa Wind aluminum i want to give the frame a high polish with etched decals would the work or create weak spots in the frame.

Hey, i understand your side completely. But maybe a little more info on the bike would help your point. A scott 970 like yours would probably retail around 20/23k. You got the bike from Leon who was or may still be involved with bike market Lynnwood so your good deal was probably as a result of a lowball offer to start.

You could probably go to any reputable car dealer and get the same. If you go to Ford and buy a car for 100k take it home and slap on new tyres for 10k give it a service for 10k. Will that Ford dealer buy the car back a month later for 120k? I think he might offer you 70k if you lucky.

Ok so it was 1x12 as you never replaced the derailleur. The new kit and a service in my mind don't add 2k value to the bike it is the same 30k 1x12 bike. The extras are value to you but the mudgard would be the first thing i bin if i was the buyer.

So you paid 30k presume secondhand as you had a major service. Added a few extras grips probably most expensive item as it is first on your list. Now you selling at 32k trying to recover your total cash outlay.

Pin? Snap pin? I have 2 Dura-Ace 10speed pins if that's what you are wanting.

You would probably find more people use Gorilla Tape on home tubeless than purpose made tape.
