  1. Just buy a cheap scrap bike off Facebook, box it up, and take it with you as sports equipment. Then, when you arrive at your destination, you can dump it in the trash. Your return flight will also have your sports equipment coming back with you. The chances of customs catching the switch are slim; they probably won't even open the box, just x-ray it.
  2. Yes the debonding between the aluminum and carbon. The drive side crank arm develops a slight bit of play noticeable if you wiggle it gently.
  3. Did you try swapping your pedals and maybe cleats then test it.
  4. A sad weekend for cycling i think as previously mentioned the number is at 5 fatalities for the weekend in Gauteng.

A user search does not yield any names close to this, and even searching "96" does not bring up a user with a similar name. Perhaps the exact name would help.
  6. A solid bike for the price, even with an additional R3,000 for a second-hand GX upgrade, will still surpass many newer competitors in terms of value and specifications.
  7. Slightly higher spc on the Pro vs std
  8. If you decide to go with the second-hand 249R route, I recommend choosing either the Pro or Team models, as they come with slightly higher specifications, including hydraulic brakes. They also feature an air fork and decent gears, unlike the standard 249R, which has grip shifts and cable disc brakes.
  9. Next, I'm considering a good second-hand 12-speed GX groupset with an NX cassette, unless I find a non-Boost Hope hub with a XD driver, in which case I'll go full GX just for fun. Ultimately, this setup will still be cheaper than a new drone and way higer spc.
  10. Maybe someone has a 249R that you could test. My granddaughter outgrew her 20" in just 10 months, so I sort of skipped the 24" upgrade. Although they are discontinued, I managed to find a neat, well-looked-after 249R Pro off the hub for R3000. This feels a little less painful on the pocket, especially when kids outgrow them so quickly. I’ll probably break even when I sell it in a year or two.
  11. Try calling a Russian stripper an alien, and she will bliksem you and tell you she is an exotic dancer. Unfortunately pine trees have no say
  12. There are many bike shops selling items sourced from Temu, and even large, well-known retailers have dozens of Temu products on their shelves. Is it suggested that buyers check the sources of these parts before selling them on the Hub?. If I purchase from my LBS, the item comes directly from them, regardless of whether they obtained it from Temu. Temu is just an online store like any other.
  13. When they call Monday thank them for the heads-up! Inform them you always split your shipments; one parcel was a small sacrifice.
  14. I have run Crown Gems tubeless for over a year now with no issues just topping up with Stans now and again.
  15. No worries; it's in the past. However, it does show that sometimes customers hold onto negative experiences for a long time, and more often than not, the shop loses a customer for good. I promised myself never to support that shop again, and I haven't. Ultimately, they closed down.
  16. Between you and Graham ganging up, he said that you worked on the bike and that you were qualified and would never do something like that. However, it’s in the past. It still bites that I had to go somewhere else to replace a new chain and fork out another R2500, but anyways, we learn.
  17. Ok my apologies i thaught this was Alain that worked at Centurion Specialized.
  18. Okay, so now i can associate the username with a face, you were a mechanic at Specialized up in JHB. This is the same mechanic who thought it was a good idea to put two quick links on my S-Works Epic when I sent it for a full service and a new chain. When the chain snapped on the second ride, I returned three days after collecting it, and I was told that I must have done something wrong. You basically chased me out of the shop when things got a little heated.
  19. You can also try Temu. I purchased replacement cables and a charging docking station for my watch and they work perfectly around R40.
  20. Hi Robert, I have a few adapters for you. You can take the whole lot? Send Philipie with some chocolate. 🍫
  21. I have purchased a few from Temu and found the variety and quality to be excellent at a fraction of the price. If knock-offs are your thing, they offer those too. https://share.temu.com/1DAIhvY9E5B
  22. I know of three successfully recovered bikes belonging to Bike Hub members. I have forwarded the sellers' details to the owners, and they have arranged to view the bikes as potential buyers. One bike, a high-end Canyon CF, was retrieved by the owner along with his insurance recovery team. The second bike was recovered with the help of private security in Danune, Cape Town. The third bike was recovered with the assistance of SAPS and the investigating officer. There was a fourth recovery, but I can't recall the exact details. @Daniel Rossouw https://forum.bikehub.co.za/topic/194961-felt-f85-stolen-near-irene/?do=findComment&comment=3939109
  23. The buyer's details should be included in the offer. Send him a direct message to explain the mistake and ask him to resend his offer or to suggest alternative arrangements for the sale.
  24. Hi @Matt, I apologize for the confusion. I could have worded my post better. Just to clarify, the report was sent to you by @SuperDooperSnooper; I merely made a snippet repost of the original post he made.
