  1. as there are no posts i take it he should have it for free?"is there anybody out there"
  2. i need the help of the well informed bunch of hubbers.after 2 years of harassing my neighbour to also get a mtb and off his ass on the couch he seems ready for the plunge.a friend of his has given him a bike to borrow for a month to see how it goes with the option to buy the bike.now i was wondering how much is the bike worth.it is a titus chromo light with xtr shifters, xtr rderailer,xt fderailer, magura martha sl brakes,3way manitou swinger suspension, fox tallas trailtune fork.the wheels are unknown, but i could see dt swiss front hub and fsa rear hub.overall the bike seems in fair condition with no movement on pivotpoints and the 3*10 gearing seems to be ok ie no chainwear on cog or blades.i do understand that it is a difficult question , but any advice will be appreciated.
  3. plus 3 but have been drinking way to many beers with friends.it was worth it , but suffered on my last few rides.

    Cricket......

i still think that a whole lot of match fixing is still involved in cricket the world wide over and not only in this game.
  5. front, but both front and back plate are the same.
  6. yip the rectangular clip.
  7. i think it is called a pad retainer.
  8. @rad006 thanx for reply but the fives does not have a pin so i am not sure as to what this part that is missing actualy do.
  9. @divernick thanks for the reply, but no.it is the one that sits on the outside.
  10. i have avid juicy five's.yesterday i lost the metal thingy that as far as i know keeps the pads from not rattling.it is on the brake funny shape normally put it in last when replacing the pads.now i have a ride this afternoon and no shop has them avaiable.can i go and ride my mtb this afternoon without this or would this create problems?
  11. if they stink you probably farted too much trying to fit them on the rims.different horses for different courses.i guess they were/are most ridden tyres at the world's premier mtb event because they stink.the mere fact that you do not like them does not mean they stink.i for one am very happy with them as i have never had any issues for the last 4 years.but happy hunting for tyres that you like.if i was in the eastern cape i would have bought them as second hand tyres from you.
  12. i would rather go and jump of bloukrans bridge.
  13. hope you heal quickly man.
  14. good spokesperson.beats the normal rugby and cricket interviews of "back to the drawing board,we can take positives from the game, the boys showed guts" etc cliches. really enjoyed the interview.
  15. have to agree with Frank Opperman.Personaly i just watched the program because of the tight fitting tops the girl wore.
  16. Like that episode of Top Gear where they had to build the motorhomes.
  17. according to news flash received last week and agm the reasons for the closure depends on which rumour you wish to believe.the bottom line however is that the corridor is closed for all riders including those of tygerberg mtb club.any word on reopening at this time is speculation.
  18. I did a few Burgers previously. To me it was not a race that was well organized therefore I stopped doing it 4 years ago.I do not support a race that runs out of water. On my last race my cycling partner had a few mechanical issues that took us time to fix.3 punctures because of glass, broken chain(his fault) RD that broke after another cyclist rode into him from behind etc.I fixed his punctures, fixed the chain and converted his bike to a SS for the rest just to limp to the finishline. At that stage no more water on the course and the finish area a bit of a shambles.(we were still within the cut off time).ended up driving to town to get a cold coke.that was my last Burger. If an organizer can get enough water on top of a mountain during a mtb event there is no reason why you should run out of water on a race/ride like Burger.
  19. socks/tshirt/cap with logo to identify with the race.kind of been there done that shirt and not happy honeymoon couple t shirts.Boerie roll and something to drink would also be appreciated.as to where to find marshalls i would think the local bike clubs could be a good starting point.shout if you need help in CT.also perhaps a sort of certificate like a bike board which you can then proudly place to the effect of marshall at world cup event?
  20. like if you hurt my daughter i can always make sure your death looks like an accident.
  21. ok forgot something even a bib to show that you are a marshal
  22. i volunteer as a marshal from time to time as i feel it my duty to make some fellow cyclists day a bit better every now and then even if just to show him/her where to ride.

    Injuries

what does your Dr/physio say?.they sometimes tend to know a little more about these things than some hubbers.alternatively use your last few synapte fortes, train and race through the pain, ignore your body's signals that there is something that needs to be fixed and remember no amount of money can buy back your health.this is like ignoring the red oil light on your car as the car is still going.
