  3. just remember some people/poepol cannot read
  4. firstly never believe all that is written in the newspaper.(I have found that the only thing you can believe in the newspaper is probably the cartoons.) As for the comment of Maggi I am sure that once you have read your post again you will find that such generalization might not be a good idea."it seems that attorneys in this country have no sense for the value of life. May all defending these type of idiots suffer the same pains and losses." I am one of those who from time to time defend such people. I can assure you that I value life, my own and those of my wife son and daughter. For that matter I value all life. once the person has been found guilty of an offense the sentence of the accused is judged by a different set of rules, the scope of which is not important here. For a discussion on what sentences should be, you can start with Greek philosophers, do a year course at the University and study the millions of sentences pronounced each day in our courts. What should be remembered is that it is one of the most basic principles across all Democratic world that the person is innocent until proven guilty. I do not for one moment suggests that what happened should be condoned. Each matter and each sentence should be judged on its own merits. If not you would have ludicrous situations for example if one person is to be sentenced to jail, then all people should be sent to jail for committing the same offense.this might be a cool idea until something like this happens to you. The bottom line is that this incident should never have happened. This would be the case in a perfect world which is only a fiction and does not exist. Once people learn to be more tolerant, we might get nearer to a perfect world.
  5. i have juicy 5's.just replaced the pads yesterday with same protek? ones.lasted me just on 1500 km with no problems.
  6. the lengths people will get into to get some extra x terra training in is amazing. this one of those stories that will be better to stomach as time goes by.i am glad you survived your ordeal.pity about the bike damage though.hope baviaans goes well.
  7. also forget to add that when i take my son along i walk much more so the spes it is then.i normally ride vp downhill/bmx style pedals so if i go with my son i try to be unclipped with the more takkie type spes and i play a bit eg practicing wheelies/jumping while i wait for him. i guess it all comes down to personal preference.
  8. on spesialized tahoe for the last 3 years and no problems.they do walk more comfortable than my olympic hurricanes though.good value for money both.i know on which training routes i will walk so then i put on the spes.i have found that i seem to have more power with the stiffer sole.
  9. thanks for the info prozac.have been on the mtb consistently the last 6 weeks with the longest ride being about 3-4 hours with plenty of climbing.living in the northern subs of cape town so majik forrest/hillcrest/contermans/meerendal loop takes a bit of climbing.how far is stormsriver village from plettenbergbay.we will be staying at plet and will have to drive to and from the race daily.
  10. also doing the storms river traverse.got a mail over the weekend to indicate that distances has changed from those advertised on the website.i am going in blind as i have not got a clue as to type of distances to have covered during training.as to training i have been watching the tdf and earlier the year the cape epic on tv.
  11. my crossmark came to its death(eventualy)last week.put a monorail upfront and still running crossmark at the back.much better for my riding style.after one weeks riding will state that this package is better than crossmark front and back.
  12. First practice engage and disengage on grass.Set the retention springs.Practice makes perfect and realize that sometimes **** will happen.
  13. i also thought of getting a thing like this for the dark days in ct.instead i got a good light and now cycle in the dark.cheaper,no switching backwheels etc.o and did i mention it is not lekker to sit there pedalling away like a hamster and the scenery stays the same.
  14. pardon my ignorance but what is that thing?
  15. in my office my mtn and vodacom dongles work fine .thecell c one did not work ie no or very unstable signal.some suggestions from cell c was to disengaged all firewalls on my computer.the technicians came out and no signal.this dispite their coverage map showing that i should have a very strong signal.some oke at cell c went so far as to tell me that the map is not accurate.i think they can just as well paint their computer screen orange/red as the coverage map has no bearing on the actual coverage.after sale service was even worse.
  16. the only way to judge a man's future behaviour is to look at his past behaviour.I have not dealt with Neilswheels , and it will stay this way.
  17. i am with garfield 2010.i bought 2 2gig speedsticks from cell c.theier coverage map is bull and to make a long story short i was refunded for the two sticks.it did however take numerous phone calls,e mails from my bb,swearing etc and 6 months to have the money back in my account.
  18. It was not me yesterday, but hell yes there are some okes that know how to handle a bike in the kloof
  19. best info i can give is to ride before you buy eg i ride a large mongoose but an x large stumpy just because of the different geometry.my 2c worth of advice is to try and take the bike you are interested in for a ride.
  20. i just listen to my body.if feeling strong cycle like you stole it.if feeling weak back off the pace.as for the poll i would favour the 16 weak one.in general though i ride my mtb to get away from the office.

  22. i had a lovely morning in goodwood court as well.it is right next to harkerville red route.your companions should be st, quiet forrests etc mine was nice dagga walms in the cells and a prosecutor that does not know her ass from her elbow.one should not want but i would rather be you today. enjoy it.i just might have to go the CWC for some retail therapy later today.i hear buying bib shorts will make me feel better.
