  1. my crossmark came to its death(eventualy)last week.put a monorail upfront and still running crossmark at the back.much better for my riding style.after one weeks riding will state that this package is better than crossmark front and back.
  2. First practice engage and disengage on grass.Set the retention springs.Practice makes perfect and realize that sometimes **** will happen.
  3. i also thought of getting a thing like this for the dark days in ct.instead i got a good light and now cycle in the dark.cheaper,no switching backwheels etc.o and did i mention it is not lekker to sit there pedalling away like a hamster and the scenery stays the same.
  4. pardon my ignorance but what is that thing?
  5. in my office my mtn and vodacom dongles work fine .thecell c one did not work ie no or very unstable signal.some suggestions from cell c was to disengaged all firewalls on my computer.the technicians came out and no signal.this dispite their coverage map showing that i should have a very strong signal.some oke at cell c went so far as to tell me that the map is not accurate.i think they can just as well paint their computer screen orange/red as the coverage map has no bearing on the actual coverage.after sale service was even worse.
  6. the only way to judge a man's future behaviour is to look at his past behaviour.I have not dealt with Neilswheels , and it will stay this way.
  7. i am with garfield 2010.i bought 2 2gig speedsticks from cell c.theier coverage map is bull and to make a long story short i was refunded for the two sticks.it did however take numerous phone calls,e mails from my bb,swearing etc and 6 months to have the money back in my account.
  8. It was not me yesterday, but hell yes there are some okes that know how to handle a bike in the kloof
  9. best info i can give is to ride before you buy eg i ride a large mongoose but an x large stumpy just because of the different geometry.my 2c worth of advice is to try and take the bike you are interested in for a ride.
  10. i just listen to my body.if feeling strong cycle like you stole it.if feeling weak back off the pace.as for the poll i would favour the 16 weak one.in general though i ride my mtb to get away from the office.
  11. have a look at tygerberg mtb club website.there is a map on there.how well do you know the durbanville area so i might be able to give you directions.may links to contermans eg via meerendal or hillcrest
  12. i had a lovely morning in goodwood court as well.it is right next to harkerville red route.your companions should be st, quiet forrests etc mine was nice dagga walms in the cells and a prosecutor that does not know her ass from her elbow.one should not want but i would rather be you today. enjoy it.i just might have to go the CWC for some retail therapy later today.i hear buying bib shorts will make me feel better.
  13. having same problem with crossmark in the front.looking at intense, but not so much side wall protection.any ideas out there on the intense?
  14. international power products cc in killarney gardens cape town rebuild my battery pack for a blackburn.one day and under R300 and i am sorted.i took my batteries for cordless drill in when i went to fetch the lights and am now happily drilling away again.
  15. i have stopped buying the photo's as i thought they were out-pricing themselves.
  16. My son has now started to do some MTB races/rides with me.he is in primary school and has done a few such as knysna/argus etc.His medal sort of grew onto his neck.he puts it on directly after the race and sometimes stays there for a few days even through the shower and he sleeps with it.His school has a cool thing as everyone who got a medal in any sport over the weekend then hands it over in the school hall. I have seen the power of a medal and personaly i am glad that he now prefers mtb medals to ben ten or one or other alien like four arms.
  17. either i am too weak or the mongoose too heavy so i end up pushing.
  18. do not let a few comments in bad taste make you lose sight of the big picture.if you want to sell an article and the value for money is good the article will sell.my shitbarometer always works and someone looking to buy an article will/should be able to to see the difference between sales hype and the real deal.if i am iterested in an article i will not let other comments deter me from buying if the comment does not add anything of value.good luck with your sale.
  19. ek bly ook elke jaar op buffelsbaai.naby genoeg aan knysna vir die race maar nie so beknop met al die mense nie.lekker bike shop op sedgefield naby die winkel wat ook bier verkoop.
  20. yes it was a good buy as you now have a bicycle.so go and do what you do on a bicycle and you tell us if it was a good buy after you have ridden the thing.what would the result be if i say bad bike or good bike.go and ride as you have already bought it.
  21. this same discussion was held last year at tdf with the schleck/contador/chain thing. a while ago all was the moer in for breintjies bart for attacking at a feeding point.it shows to me that there are still no clearcut rules as in governing body rules and the riders follow the "unwritten rules" the problem with unwritten rules are what are they only guidelines/rules to be followed at all costs/who oversees these rules/who makes enforces them etc. my view point is that it should be a race till you cross the finishline and then have beers.
  22. isn't raynard tissink sponsored by atlas security?maybe he also chased in doing a bit of speedwork before IM.i am so glad they caught these okes.
  23. i guess that the same guy that rides like a dick on a bike will drive like a dick when you put him behind a steering wheel.it is not the mode of transport but the person seemingly in control who is the problem.
  24. i am just glad i did not pay such a lot of money for a thing that broke that easily be it a design flaw or a rider flaw.if i believe lagoonlonie(and no reason not to)my bike goes through a lot more at any given time.i feel for you and hope you get sorted.unfortunately i am not as clever as some of my fellow hubbers and can only give moral support.
  25. the RAF will only be liable to pay if the accident arose or was caused by the negligent driving of a motorvehicle.i doubt whether the RAF will pay out.your possible claim will be against the owner of the land on which the danger was created and he will then in all probability add another defendant as being the person responsible for digging the hole and not taking the necessary care to safeguard it.your claim is not in contract but in delict.I doubt very much if you will eventually walk away from this one the winner taking into consideration the time/costs/possibility of successful action etc. My suggestion would be to claim from insurance(medical and bike) work on the MTB skills, heal well and go and ride your bike.
