  6. Mine was meant to be a second hand frame but they can be purchased from pornstar for R11000 new. I took some existing parts off old bike, like wheels, seat and pedals. But one could do same build (all new) for about R26k...
  7. I thought that is the new trend seriously though- keeping options open at this stage regarding setup, and for resale purposes, may eventually cut it though
  8. weighs in around 7.4kg now but to be honest I didn't see the scale figure :unsure:will re-check. drop it by a few hundred grams when I change seat and pedals. Also looking at getting lighter wheels in the future (quite some time) and will use the AC for training. That should take it to about 6.9kg or possibly less...

  14. After Qualifying: Minnaar down in 34th (16sec) 35th is an 'Aussie' named Rhys Willemse Neethling in 23rd, Potgieter 88th Tim Bentley 124th Stefan Garlicki 150th Tiaan Odendaal 184th 207 timed riders Not sure who qualifies though
  15. Work out your desired time, factor in the number of stops and then end up with average speed. Also consider mechanical/unscheduled stops. As a social team we limited our stops to 5 minutes and had about two stops in the first 100 and around 4 in the last 100. The first 100 is a distance requiring fewer stops. Breaking up the last 100 is key. rotating riders on the front (ie 1-2 minutes per pair) using two lines is also good, then the stronger riders can be used more often later on. It's a fun event s have fun!! take pics, chat and take it easy
  16. Isn't that a bit excessive for a 'social' team? maybe right for a top team?
  17. Which doesn't have integrated cabling? Ritchey or easton? have got AC 420 Aero 3
  18. What about these Easton bars- on special at Buycycle. Easton bars
  19. ok so the Ritchey seem to be a good bet... what stem then? I was thinking KCNC?
  20. Hi all, Got this awesome frame from Pornstar (Collin) and hoping to build up something nice...to budget of course I am considering: SRAM Force groupset (full) Old saddle or possibly Specialized Toupe Existing American Classic wheels That just leaves the 'Cockpit'. What do you think of an integrated stem/bar, or is seperate stem and bar better? Also what about aero bars? I would be able to spend about R1000 on a bar and would like as light as possible. So far looking at NESS Aero bar, or maybe Ritchey WCS bar... Any other suggestions (on other parts too)
