  10. I was just behind a Chap for about 2km`s. Then a second guy passed me. On seeing the stranded guy the other 2 guys were already gone. All his spare tubes had been used up. He was busy phoning someone for a lift, But I thought why the unnecessary trouble.
  11. Riding back from Cape Town I saw someone busy with a flat tyre. I always offer to help. I stopped and offered him my spare. Glad I was able to help you out. I Hope you managed to get home. Cheers PS. I am a Roadie ON a MTB
  12. Condolences to the Botha family and friends. May Hannes RIP. I met him when I was in Pretoria fetching a new bike. He still ensured everything was top on a Friday afternoon.
  13. Hello Adventuring Cyclist I can't view your route the Garmin page goes blank, possibly because I don't have a Garmin account. I only used a backpack, a 50L waterproof day pack. I would take a second kit so I could rotate the Bibs. A rain jacket and leggings. I always carried just enough spares and drink from one sleep over to the next sleep over. I would use a powder cool drink and a powder food supplement on the bike. I would reach out on social media for places to sleep on route. Rotary and Lion clubs. I made provisions to collect my Supplements and Tubes on route at the end of each day or every second day. I had posted parcels to the designated Towns. I would contact each Provincial authority to travel on the roads. I tried to stay on busy roads for my own safety. I carried pepper spray and a paintball pistol. I hope that helps. David
  14. Hello Nixm Recovery is not easy. I have Been stuck in bed, Leg up for 11 weeks now. Leg has shrunk to half the size of the other. Hope you recover soon.
  15. 1x DNF DC. a few years back at the DC, 40K to go. I got taken out. The bike was damaged but the Medics wanted to give me a Drip.
  16. Who still Uses "Tyre Levers" ? I stopped carrying those years ago. Just a Tube, Pomp and spare patches on me.
  17. When ever I get a snotty/ runny nose, I take Antihistamines. Clears up completely. Broken bones is a different story, going on 4 months out of action.
