  1. I have heard these Mobu frames are cracking all over the place and are leaking high levels of radiation... especially the mediums... So...if anyone wants to sell theirs....I know a guy...
  2. Buffelsdrift this morning. Albino Tiger Donkeys
  3. Don't look at the picture of the new Mobu...it will only make you sad if like me you missed the boat on the initial batch. Doubt it will replace the Stage, not for the expected price point of the frame. Now I got to wait to 2020...and figure out which organ to sell
  4. I'm a over 100 on a good day (a very good day), plus about 12kg bike Thanks will check out the brakes you recommended.
  5. What does a set of Hope's cost? I understand there obviously different models but for somebody who does marathon and a few stage races?
  6. I currently ride the Sram Level Ultimates, was riding XTR before. XTR was hands down the better of the two. I find the Srams squishy and inconsistent even after serving and being checked by the bike mechanics at multiple shops. I have never had a good experience with any Sram brakes. Next upgrade for me is brakes back to the XTR.
  7. How tough are the DHF tyres? I ride in JHB, mainly at Buffelsdrift. I'm not worried about weight, just looking for something that is strong in rocky type terrain. I'm currently running Spez ground control, have been for a few years but the newer ones seem soft, 3 punctures in the last 3 rides. I ride mainly marathon and ultra distances.
  8. My trusty steed. Way more bike than I need but hey, if you can why not. Absolutely blown away by how well this bike climbs and rides, even with fat oke like me on it. Might be adding the new Mobu to the stable...just working out if I can go the rest of the year without money for food or anything else.
  9. I'm busy trying the CKD. Only been two weeks so early days. Last week I was normal Keto Mon-Thurs, Fri dinner I ate carbs, did a 5 hour MTB ride Saturday, ate carbs at about 2 hours and 3 hours and then bonked hard. But it was my first 5 hour ride in a few years so can't say for sure it was from the carbs. Previous to this I had been full time keto and could easily finish 3-4 hour rides with just a nut butter or two during the ride and no issue with bonking. Going to try a shorter ride this weekend with some carbs again to see how it goes.
  10. K@k day in Africa
  11. Can fully agree with the intermittent fasting. Only been doing it for about 3 months and don't do it every day. I aim for 18:6 during the week and then eat normally on the weekends which is my long ride days. Friday meal I up my cals a but too. Some days everything goes out the window though...beers, burgers and everything else my eyes see I cut back on dairy and nuts. They seemed to be my stumbling point. after about 2 weeks I started dropping again.
  12. Performance enhancing drugs are readily and easily available in SA...I'm talking order online and have them delivered next day. I used many stupid substances over the years for body building. I don't use anymore but a few years ago went searching online for stuff like melatonin and 5HTP which you now need scripts for in SA. The site I order these from sells everything under the sun when it comes to performance drugs. As I say I used steroids and many many class A drugs in my youth and it really shocked me just what is available and how easy it is to get online. Doping programs are not as complex as many people think and easily available. Simple blood tests can be done at doctor or clinic and I'm pretty sure without parents needing to be involved. Cost of the drugs are not high, they can be ordered online, programs and structure available online, simple blood tests available... parents would never know or even need to be involved. My point is it is a lot easier then many think to go down this road and I can assure you many many cyclists in SA are using something not found at Clicks to get some improvement. Biggest danger these days is not the drugs or even getting the drugs, it's timing the detection period so you stay under the radar.

  17. I'm just getting back on the Keto wagon after a few months. Realised my Macro's were completely off on my first attempt, must of had a brain fart or something when calculating them. My fats were far too low and my carbs too high. (was on 50g Carbs an 120g Fats)
  18. Good point actually. Cheers
