  1. Site was blocked this morning by my BitDefender for containing a Trojan. Very strange Edit: I see admin knows already.
  2. Agreed, to me there is a lot of value in customer service. Distributors can decide how they will treat customers. Customers can choose how and where they spend their money. Places like theHUB helps us make up our minds, and have silly internet pissing contests but mostly the information stuff. You could have gone off on a rant and slammed Giant, the distributor and everybody that ever sold a bike. You didnt, you gave a clear account of your dealings with a company and their representation in SA. This helped me form an opinion of them and decide where to spend my money. So thanks for that!
  3. So glad I saw this thread now. Customer service like this is not acceptable and will remove Giant from my list of possibilities for a new mountain bike. Thanks for letting us know guys.
  4. chat to brighterlights, I know he's got one.
  5. Right in front of the mtn bike park. Left foot clipped in and right leg not over the saddle yet. I lost my balance and went down to the left but at least I missed the big logs they have there and only hit the tar. I shot up at the speed of light and didnt stay to see who saw me do that.
  6. even with my sarcasm goggles on this doesn't seem right.
  7. lots of trust in this forum, nice to see. I say no. What reasons could the ex have for choosing her. Think about it man.. and if any of his songs have the words baby and lyfie as a rhyme formation then absolutely over my dead body HELL NO.
  8. At least they have running. Look at any marathon and try to find a whitey in the top 10. Makes me think. Maybe we should get the Ethiopians some bikes, and with what they weigh even alu will work. *Lance* if you read this, make your next TDF comeback with a group of Ethiopians. Just lose your sponsor first as THE SHACK might be somewhat offensive.
  9. Fun. They didnt keep to the start times though. My group left 6 mins early but no biggie. The wind was a little strong at times and that experimental road section after the first climb sucked big time. It seems they are experimenting with good ol sinkplaat pad in cities now. Overall a nice morning out
  10. scam, i logged in through work network and this place seems to be here: funny how that is close to where our server is. Stay away.
  11. Glad everything is fine.. Now YOUTUBE!! Ive been toying with the idea of taking footage like this and showing taxi drivers what happens when they dont look out for cyclist. They spend some time at ranks having their deathtraps washed and making just one guy notice cyclist more could help..
  12. Yang, CWC cycles have them for around R1600 without helmet and lenses. That is what you pay for Oakley or similar brands. I'm not disputing the fact that its still a lot of money but what you get is definitely quality, I have a pair and from personal experience can tell you that it can take some serious punishment.
  13. I almost got into a good ol fistfight while riding at the "spruit" part north of cambridge crossing in the suburb. Saturday afternoon and one of the locals did not appreciate my "playing on his land". The local was drunk and his land was a dirt path between palisade and his spruit/toilet. I left when he sat down and started crying. Is it like this elsewhere on the route too? This poor oke wasn't dangerous but it could easily have been otherwise.
  14. After investigation I found your price to be ridiculous. At Milk Online I can get 8L for about R12. Good luck with the sale though, its a beauty.
  15. weight?
  16. Im going to +1 here. Fantastic service, got a great deal from Chris and it arrived in JHB less than 24 hrs from that time I placed the order. Big thumbs up!
  17. Really depends what for. Day to day vehicle nav I prefer TomTom, look at their Go 750 live which gives live traffic updates ect. For more offroad tracking and sport applications Garmin offers some great products.
  18. From Wikipedia So it seems their invention does have some merit, at least it keeps weight closer to the hub. Look here for detailed analysis on bike performance with some maths thrown in. Ill just quote this bit. Whether the kinetic energy gain on a decent will cancel out the extra weight on uphills is hard to determine.
  19. Now that is a spanner in the works!!
  20. Dammit, I was going to use this as my defense for training 6hrs on the weekend. Not wanting my fibers to relax and so on Maybe ill still try it!
  21. If im not misreading the sarcasm here I would love to know the scientific reason this happens.
  22. Nice! Tell this guy you need to pay 20k for a new grouppo cos it saves you 200g and that will help you climb better! But seriously now, I would love to see him make a turn. I suspect it involves some crazy skills!
  23. That orange bear is doing it wrong. Also from the deadpan expression you can see he's got no compassion. Hopefully next time there will be qualified compassionate bears at the scene.
  24. Hi Blackbutton, did your frame make it?
  25. but where is ur account number. although I am a pensioner I can see a good deal from a mile away and will take the dogmas. how much will courier from Gabon be, or will you bring them to me in person like the nice gentleman from uganda with the R1000 iphones?
