  1. He has a valid point..... I wouldn't be able to resist that face!
  2. So true. A friend does fostering of dogs that need help with their issues and a normal family home before they can be adopted and sadly they have often been abused too. So the dogs all have printed yellow bandanas and a big yellow tag attached to the walking harness saying 'Please give me space' when being taken out for walks etc. Yet the number of idiots that come to pet the dogs is astounding.
  3. I think I did. If it was the one where the band died at the end in plane crash?
  4. I can't imagine what it must be like for you and I don't really have the right words but sending you strength.
  5. I was vegetarian for a long time and its nice to see the variety of vegetarian food in restaurants and shops is so much better than before. it was pretty dire years ago in SA.
  6. I enjoyed it. Well organised and nice area afterwards. I was also pretty disappointed to not do the floating bridge this year as I enjoyed that bit last year. I will take the children next year as I didn't realise there was a 10km option. Truth if it wasn't for that I don't know if I would go just for myself again but the children will enjoy it.
  7. I am so very sorry. Condolences to you and your family. May you find strength in the difficult time ahead.
  8. Right you lot! Enough of the pics of the gorgeous GSD as now I'm thinking would it be possible to have more dogs...... well actually a GSD puppy.
  9. I truly believe that having dogs is so beneficial to a child, however I mean having dogs as part of the family and they are involved with the dogs not garden ornaments with little interaction. So sad when I see 'garden ornaments'.
  10. Oh that is too cute!
  11. Aah! I am puppy broody. He is gorgeous. I can just imagine that little snuffly nose and unique puppy smell
  12. I recall siting waiting at the vet surrounded by people with Yorkies etc. on their laps as I sat there with a huge GSD on my lap cos that is how we used to sit on the couch at home so he didn't think that his royal ass was expected to go on the floor like the other big dogs at the vet.
  13. Ok. Totally different scenario to my colleague then. Glad you don't have to fight that aspect then.
  14. The social worker can make recommendations but only the judge can actually decide and one would hope they take the recommendation into consideration. Sorry not being alarmist and I really hope this is not the norm but a colleague was recently in a custody battle where the recommendation was not taken by the judge.
  15. I am so very very sorry for your loss. When a dog crosses Rainbow Bridge it is so hard.
  16. Yeah read that now on Google. Also didn't realise Fergal Sharkey was lead singer, only knew him from 'A Good Heart'.
  17. Thank you. Just realised that whilst I have heard and enjoyed that song loads of times I have never seen the video. Just Googled and didn't realise it was so old. Firm favourite in clubs I frequented in the 90's so I thought it was from then. Hindsight its probably cos of the genre of music.
  18. So very true!
  19. They are just the best! Love them. My parents had them from when before I was born so literally grew up with them and then got my own once I stopped moving between countries.
  20. @ Gen and Baldrick, thank you, I will have a look at the pet shop. Had my metal comb/rake thingy for years so a new one may be in order.
  21. What do they look like? I have a metal comb/rake thingy.
  22. Those tufts on the top of the legs near the tail. A bugger to comb out.
  23. Yep, had them my whole life and spent lots time getting dog hair off my clothes, couch and bed etc.
  24. Happy to see Derry Girls is on Netflix, don't really watch much telly at all but this I find pretty funny and can relate to it on so many levels
