  1. Aaah Madchester. Timing was out for me and I sort of missed most of it. Never did get to go to the Hacienda, later on I went to Jilly's Rockworld on Oxford Rd instead as had friends at UMIST but it was after the Madchester scene. Stone Roses and Inspiral Carpets were not too bad.
  2. Never liked them but got roped into doing the obligatory photo on the doorstep of Salford Lads Club with friends. Alas in the days before digital so have no idea where the photo is.
  3. Have to agree. Charlie decided last night that at 2 am it was now play time and ran around like a lunatic. The other dogs were not impressed and neither were the humans.
  4. Always the Sun was the first song I ever heard of theirs.
  5. I remember being in primary school and drawing a line of some sort of characters or symbol that were related to FGTH? Can't remember much else but do seem to remember this and obviously the lyrics went right over my young head. Think it was banned on TOTP as well.
  6. Reminds me of my late old GSD. One night, I semi woke up as I felt a smallish body getting into the middle of our bed. I presumed it was one of the children so went straight back to sleep. In the morning I sleepily turned over to cuddle said child only to discover a very furry 'child' happily ensconced with his head on the pillow wagging his tail with delight that I was now awake. He normally slept on a mattress next to my side of the bed but for some reason that night he decided to sleep with us. I still miss my old boy terribly and it's been quite a few years. I really love/d all my dogs, but he was my baby.
  7. Started to watch it and then got interrupted so I guess I shall try watch it again when children and dogs are all fast asleep.
  8. You can ride if you have the tags ( club membership) but if you need to buy a daily ticket at the Pro Shop you can't ride as the shop is closed. Not sure when it will open for all.
  9. So I finally get to watch a bit of telly which is a fairly rare occurrence. Been enjoying Killing Eve. Watched Jodie Comer on a talk show and was quite funny to hear her natural scouse accent when you are so used to 'seeing' her differently.
  10. I was really worried when I brought home my son as my dogs were and still are my fur babies. Sadly we have different dogs now but still part of the family. My male GSD was my biggest worry as he was very very close to me but I introduced baby slowly and over a period of a few days and he was amazing with my son. He became a self appointed guard dog for this tiny little baby and would stand guard over the cot when my son was sleeping and growl at the other dogs if they came too near the cot. All the dogs were super gentle but also I was still realistic and aware that they were big dogs and was always present in the room and didn't let him clamber all over them when he was starting to crawl etc. When I look back at photos of my children there is always a tail or nose in the photos as well.
  11. So sorry. It's never easy.
  12. Very nice! Love the colours! I'll order some more cos wearing the SA flag was not me.... ????On a side note, quite a few people at work ordered after they saw mine and I said how comfy it was. They are also very happy so well done on a great product!
  13. I have always enjoyed The Jam's music but found Paul Weller a little tiresome. A little ironic that the man who wrote Eton Rifles sent all 5 of his children to private school.
  14. So Charlie has luckily copied the other dogs and sleeps in quite late and doesn't wake us up early. Wish the kids would follow suit.... However he had discovered that a kitchen cupboard door which is where some food is stored like biscuits, snacks etc wasn't closed properly and he managed to flick it open with his nose and have a giant midnight feast. Of course he also took some stolen snacks to his bed and also the couches. Cos you know crunched up bits of biscuits mixed with dog slobber is great for upholstery. However those brown puppy eyes have me smitten and his quizzical expressions are so adorable.
  15. Hmm the 2 posts above are not very reassuring...... So far we have no damage but I think that's more to do with his baby teeth that can't do much than anything else. Charlie is growing through a growth spurt and looks more like a little GSD than the ball of fluff he was.
  16. Thank you. I haven't had puppies for so long as our other dogs were all rescues got as adults that I had forgotten what they were like..... He is so damn cute and now sleeping through the night so no midnight squeaks for love and attention anymore. Also he toilet trained really quick. The other dogs expressions when I brought him home were priceless, kind of like " Thought she said absolutely no more dogs"
  17. Aaw. That face. Definitely feeling very sorry for himself.
  18. Sooooooo We had a new addition to our house just before lockdown. I put the blame solely on Gen and Baldrick for posting pics of their beautiful GSD for the fact that I 'somehow' ended up with a GSD puppy who has stolen our hearts along with our socks and shoes.....
  19. Goodness me, he has got big!
  20. Very sorry for your loss. Even though a few months ago the void they leave is still fresh.
  21. Ha Ha. I once woke up with really sticky hair and realised that my female GSD had been sleeping on my hair at some stage in the night and drooled on it... beautiful not. I did then realise that sharing my bed with her was probably not ideal no matter how cute she was or how much she loved to cuddle. So moved all the dogs to the lounge, much to their horror till they discovered how comfy the couches were. Biggest waste of money ever was the big comfy dog beds I bought them, never used as they managed to avoid all obstacles I put on the couches and slept on them all night.
  22. Start writing down I once made a vegetarian curry that was so so good, it really was a kind of what's in the cupboard/fridge lets throw it in scenario because I couldn't be bothered to go to the shops for other ingredients and unfortunately I have never been able to replicate it since as I can't remember what I put in.....
  23. You been watching old episodes of Geordie Shore?
  24. Who is the vet that normally does their sterilisations? Maybe try there first? I did it with my one female adoption from the local SPCA. Found out which vet they used and made the arrangements. Took her home and then took her to the vet for sterilization otherwise she would have had to wait at the SPCA till it was all done.
  25. Have to agree, my first adoption from the SPCA was a nervous, scared, battered little thing who literally wouldn't look you in the eye and peed in total fear if you happened to walk in the room unexpectedly. Didn't really come near humans if he could help it. Took him cos he was on death row and was an odd looking mutt that nobody wanted and my heart broke looking at him. It was some work but with love and perseverance he developed into a cheeky, friendly, loving and sweet dog who slept next to me till the day he died.
