  1. I read the book, wasn't too bad, enjoyed the time aspect more than the romance. I didn't realise it had been made into a series.
  2. That is a beautiful dog!
  3. Aah Camden. Went there on my first trip home after moving to SA. Loved it.
  4. I was watching (for the life of me can't remember on what or where) a clip of Mick Jones in later life doing a set in a library and whilst he was obviously much older, that guitar sound was just as memorable. I think he sang as well but was not the same as Joe Strummer.
  5. WOW! Jealousy abounds that you saw those bands live!! My Mum bought my clothes from C & A when I was a kid
  6. Still a good song! My favourite though from The Jam is Going Underground.
  7. Recently I had quite a cold and circumstances were that I didn't manage to get any medication ( none in house, working crazy hrs, maid at home wouldn't let chemist delivery in as I forgot to tell her etc.) Strange thing was after 3 days, I was totally better and shook it off really well. I am not advocating not taking medication but was quite an eye opener for me as I normally take cold/flu medication when I have a cold.
  8. Oh no. He took off the part of Rene so well. A line I also enjoyed but it wasnt his was "I shall only say zis once"
  9. Ha ha I'm a bit slow this morning, took me a minute to get it.
  10. Went online and nearly got tickets and then thought the date looked vaguely familiar, realised it was my son's birthday....
  11. Intentional pun I'm sure
  12. It's a bugger and I have friends deliberately sending me photos of them on the beach or having a drink. I will also be here till quite late, slaving over a hot lap top... Enjoy the ride home on the new bike, its looks very nice.
  13. So it's bad enough that I am still working but looking at such awesome photos is really not helping... But actually enjoying them so much
  14. That is great news, so happy they have a home
  15. I have kind of the opposite thing in my young son pushes me. I only started riding this year cos I couldn't run fast enough to keep up with my then 4 year old on his bike. I then started to really enjoy it and got hooked He absolutely loves it and happily rides 12km on blue trails, downhills and loves trying to do jumps. We entered him in a race in above his age group as there was none for 5 years olds and he came in flying in first place. I do feel a bit inadequate as I can't teach him anything as I am a total beginner so I am going to try find a kiddies skills clinic next year so he can learn how to do things properly as he is doing them anyway.
  16. So glad that you found them and I hope karma gets the ****** who dumped them.
  17. When you see her deterioration due to drugs it is really a stark reminder of the havoc of addiction.
  18. I love going into the lounge in the morning and all the dogs are there with big wagging tails and guilty expressions as their beds are still perfectly neat but the couches are still warm.
  19. Maybe tell them to order a black and tan .........
  20. Loved Tommy Cooper.
  21. I have always loved Irish Wolfhounds since I was a kid and our neighbour had one. I have German Shepherds so used to bigger dogs that don't know they are big and still sit on your knee Anybody got any experience with having Irish Wolfhounds in SA? would you recommend them? My dogs are family members and all live inside and sleep either on the couch or bed so would be no different.
  22. Never liked The Smiths and not really sure why but found Morrissey irritating so maybe that tainted my 'listening ear'.
