  1. I particularly like this one (Whilst on the google maps topic) http://gizmodo.com/5809992/students-prank-school-and-google-earth-with-giant-grass-penises
  2. Thank you JB.
  3. So it would seem according the the internet that I need some DOT4 compatible grease for some of the seals on my brakes, specifically the ones that aren't in contact with the fluid all the time (Hayes Stroker). Does anybody know where to get such a thing? I'm taking a last shot as Hayes doesn't make the slow lever kit anymore and supposedly it contained new seals and some of this grease which fixed the problem, so hoping my seals are ok and it is just a case of them not being lubricated enough to go back into position. Plus a slow lever kit was R300 which seemed quite steel for some seals and grease.
  4. It would be interesting to see the research from the conflicting ones and who was funding them... Well all of them really, but a company would be pretty daft to publish something that disproves their product. The same can however be said for researchers- the more controversial the more publicity.
  5. Few things here: http://www.photosfan.com/images/health-and-dietary-supplements1.JPG I'm not sure how accurate it is, but everything on the internet must be true... And if you want a good read on these type of things read Bad Science by Ben Goldacre... Awesome stuff on placebo and pharmaceutical companies- research that is actually true.
  6. But to answer your question, sorry, I don't know.
  7. From years of varsity experience... Ulock is the only one that kept your bike put... You need a serious jack or grinder to get through it. These little cable jobbies are useless!
  8. Lift up his wipers at the next robot...
  9. I have 203 on the front and love it- I feel like they have more modulation, but I think that is just a feeling. It was also on special and it and the adapter came in at the same price as the 160, so went for it. Touch wood, haven't hit any rocks or anything cause is it bigger, so I like it.
  10. For a while after each TdF I train super hard thinking that I can do it too... Reality sucks sometimes.
  11. Still their best ever super rugby season ever I believe... Curry cup is going to be very interesting.
  12. Banana usually does it for me- have it at about 50km- found that it works well. Usually have 2 bottles of water though. Don't believe in all this new fangled supplement stuff...
  13. Oh Noooo!!!!!
  14. With the insert you would be strengthening it- I on the other hand wouldn't trust a wedge.
  15. Quite a while back there was someone who put an insert in and then welded it and another piece on top of the same size tube to make it longer... Can't for the life of me think who it was, but it has been done and will probably be cheaper than the other option.
  16. @Paddavis- How u doin'?
  17. The non accommodation options seem better... tenting it on your own is cheap if it is allowed. I'm still thinking it through, but a large group ride, like a tour through certain places might be much better at the end of the day... Bunch or people, take turns to drive the car/s, set route, all sleep at the same place every night. Some might say you loose something because it isn't a race, but nothing is stopping you from going for it.
  18. Get some mace for in case. I don't like being this negative.
  19. To be honest, I haven't heard any in a while, but at one stage everything from there to fountains was risky- somebody was even mugged inside fountains. I agree with Riaan, find some friends, no matter how busy the trails- a mugging doesn't take long.
  20. I've heard some dodgy stories- I have stopped risking it on my own.
  21. Ja, why... I have a nearly new non-tubeless tyre that I would be more than willing to swap for your killer bee... they have served me amazingly!
  22. That looks like its straight out of LOR... Mordor Exists!
  23. Samsung Galaxy S1 and an early morning round of golf...
  24. You have to follow the little line... Depending on the gpx file there may be some distance between marker points which gives you some "creativity" in your route... Roof of Africa etc work like this and unless you're first its not so much of a problem cause you just follow tracks, but the first couple of guys have a disadvantage cause they have to keep track carefully. Adds another dynamic to the race, but also costs more cause you need a device of sorts. win-loose if you ask me.
