the last bike ride for me for a while...the adult world waits....break over...last afternoon spin for a while sadly...

a bit of tech issues here...this is a part of cork here in Ireland....some cleared forest that would be great as a mtb play area......found some local trails but they are extreme but interesting...will be good to see how they actually develop ...

soon will be time to return to a non bike land for a while...Brexit...immigration etc is a pain...but sometimes we find a good bike route...it climbs...its keeps you fit until we all meet again....nice 3hr route...nothing technical but peaceful here...forestry and small roads... today was simple....enjoy the roads that were on offer...the quietness was blissful at times...a lone car... 20210902_112810.mp4 20210902_112810.mp4

my local when I lived there ...always helped me out...miss that part of a bike store...the chat...the bit of banter...still I contact with the lads there ...and they make your bike feel special...

missed the bike around here...taking to a local mtb cyclist this morning as I was having coffee..a few near misses reported on the local roads...heard good stories about some Kinsale based SA riders will be doing this years Cape Epic ...but this is nice cycling scenery..

forgot to add...we have a guy here Oisin O'Callaghan....world junior downhill champ 2020...great talent...more to see from him over the next few years..

and greg would be right ...amazing rider ...much older than Greg...then everyones younger...????

just filtering through this discussion and having a HT for riding recently, it just suits at certain times to have fun with...don't get me wrong but having a full suspension had its moments and the its abilities out weighed my skills...in some ways the marketing of bikes takes you away from what you actually need to ride...you could have a bike for every day of the week if you have the terrain close by... here at home...mtb sometimes can mean the enduro scene...downhill for the young guys and girls to show amazing bravery ...cycling and bikes is about what appeals for a time...thats why we always go n+1 or n+2 or n+3 ...thats a bikes beauty..and I haven't touched a road bike in ages...

somewhere down there is a lost piece of sunshine....and a small bit of summer...lovely ride this am....hard ....draggy but well worth the effort ...and somewhere there is a mtb trail....

I spy a hardtail....yes...always like a hardtail..

the cool morning mist gave way to another gentle sunny day here....the weather is on a bit of a roll here...about 20c down south here...I suppose after a few years in SA...I still need to ride with a Gillet...but a decent ride with a few lovely hills and a coffee stop....a few other road cyclists out as well...just a week left here ...so max time will be spent on the bike..????

the local mountain from a distance...amazing how many good little roads you can find on a mtb...surfaces vary from tarmac...to potholes sometimes to horrible gradients...to local forest jeep type tracks but the great feel about here is its low traffic density if you stay off the main routes....

well another 4hr day on the bike...a few stops...the holidays are coming to an end...need a few Irish epics...local trails have been found...wet underneath....forestry roads are a good exercise burn.....

like sportful bib shorts....

a better than normal morning here...good cycling terrain...plenty hills that roll...nice am out...more tomorrow...
