  1. well I suppose you call these views a bit green at times....no two rides need to be the same...lets say I still miss the heat...the dry air and trails... but this is where we are... IMG_0028.HEIC
  2. interesting.....have a mobile unit/van....keep overheads as low as possible....word of mouth etc...start low and might have to be slow...gradually build up and be accessible to customers..an experience I had here in Ireland...tried to get a big service..all I got was "no..no...no " from a shop...3 week lead to get a service...horrible experience...lets say I won't set a food in that shop...while being in SA...there was a 48hr turnaround from a local shop..made alternative arrangements via a contact...better around.. sometimes you don't need fixed premises as you start off... hope it works out..
  3. looking at this images over the last week of so as made me miss SA for its wonderful scenery and bike rides... sadly in ireland and the UK at the moment and the sun is mostly absent and the "trails" somewhere hidden for the moment here...have been lucky to have a bike but great to see you all getting out there when you can will post an image when I can get my tech to work....not as nice as SA... kind regards daveno7
  4. interesting topic...as per the grey area bikes...is the bike make aware of these proposed imports ? would be interesting to see their reaction...
  5. massive south easterly....
  6. sensible decision...the organizers will find it difficult creating a mass event this year...its not easy for them...
  7. always my favourite cycling place....lovely images
  8. and imagine how fit everyone will be....that booze ban...oct/nov a better idea...
  9. events need medical support ....its a big ask at the moment to have a definite plan...should rearrange towards October or November...
  10. as a rider or an organizer it was actually easy to see where things are going with events in the first 3 months of 2021....there is no certainty ..and its reckless offering an event under pandemic conditions and with restrictive conditions...the approach has been a bit hopeful and reckless...
  11. had to get an emergency bottom bracket this am.....you could see the play when the bike store team had a look...but its a frustrating buy or repair...any tick...any strange noise.....you are overly attentive....lets see what happens tomorrow when i ride it out
  12. flanders....i still need to do this event...
  13. cant see this event actually happening...the social logistics might be a step too far...skipping this year for other reasons but maybe deferring to late 2021 might be a better outcome...
  14. Saw a copy here locally....impressive layout...print etc...layout...quality of printed paper...sadly as only English speaker I cant comment on its article content....but looks impressive...
  15. have a feeling we are going to have an un expected winner....with no Sagan etc....WVA V MvDP is a go...until they both stop working...their teams are going to be important...Sep Vanmarke would be a great winner....its going to be a fast hard race....and i will be glued to the TV...2ND best race of the year..
  16. my poor cycling brain is nearly fit be be fried.....great end of races today...GW was brilliant...and also enjoyed Paris-Tours...actually too much cycling watching over the weekend....
  17. great to see new cycling magazines launched....but also sad to have seen others disappear.....good luck with the venture...
  18. i do like this...repeat i do like this...
  19. indeed be safe...just because we have moved down to level 1 its doesn't mean the pandemic is over..
  20. it was good to see the western cape cycling Association road race around Slaghoek and Rawsonville this am....weather much better than last week....when it had to be cancelled...
  21. The rain on a Monday was light and present after a few days of cycling inactively....it was good as always to get the Hard-tail out go up a few little local vineyard climbs as time allowed....it allowed my legs to stretch...area was quiet dry even after all the rain yesterday...
  22. good luck...explore the options....discuss with surgeon...
  23. After yesterdays intensive rain session etc it was nice to see the sun shining this am....the local rivers can now be called rivers....some great impressive flow around here at the moment...meandering around the mtb routes and sometimes it was either mud or full on streams.....bike doesn't like all this sandy stuff...again took the hardtail out...really enjoying this bike again...
  24. then the world might have gone into another lockdown and you wont have to worry about international travellers etc or even the cycle tour...
