  1. I'm single so that reason is out unfortunately.
  2. I'm trying really, really hard to convince myself not to pull the trigger on a Ultimate CF SLX Disc 8.0 Di2 in Gran Turismo Blue... Reasons for trying to stop myself: Current bike is only 9 months oldCurrent bike has only done about 4,000km+- R82kPlease help me to find more reasons...
  3. VAT factor is 1.165 not 1.164. Not that it makes a lot of difference.
  4. Cycle Fit in Blackheath/Cresta are pretty good. Had my last few bike fits there.
  5. Depends on how you ride and what sort of workout you are doing. If you are doing a power based workout then no, you probably won't spin out (in fact I just leave it in the same gear for the entire workout and focus on keeping my cadence around 90 or so and it adjusts the resistance so that you are putting out the target power). If you are simulating an actual ride then on the "downhills" you will spin out just as much as if you were riding the actual route.
  6. If you're not going to take the pills why bother going to the Dr in the first place?
  7. Seems like that's par for the course these days. My experience of the last bike I took in for fixing (it was damaged in an accident and they had to replace a bunch of stuff so not just a service): After they bled the brakes, the rear wheel barely rotatedWhile sorting that out, found that the rear disk was not tightened on to the hub properly (center-lock disk) [there was a new rim on the hub after I turned the old one into a taco]About 3 km in to the first ride, the shifting cable came out of the rear derailleur [they replaced the rear derailleur]And this was from a very well respected bike shop in JHB.
  8. Much better than last week. My legs are definitely feeling it this morning: Time: 10:23 IF: 0.75 TSS: 766
  9. Did a 2:53 from CL. The legs were an absolute shambles after the MTB race the day before so every group I was in dropped me on anything even vaguely resembling an uphill. Burned all my matches on Saturday getting through the thick mud on the MTB route. But at least I didn;t do a 3:00:02 again like last year Bike after the MTB race:
  10. I don't know about wheel-on trainers (but I would assume that most of them will accommodate a boost hub). For direct drive, the CycleOps Hammer definitely accommodates boost hub with a 12mm thru-axle (I've put my 2017 Scott Spark on it before).
  11. She is the future Mrs Jehosefat even if she doesn't know it yet
  12. Always been gun to mat afaik. Also, the mat was like 5m after the start line so mat to mat wouldn't solve your neutral zone issue. And finally, why fight with them?
  13. Can't argue with that. But why not both?
  14. On short training rides (<1.5h) I just take water. For longer rides I'll take 1 bottle of water and 1 bottle of energade/powerade and an energy bar or two (I like the PVM ones). For races I take the same liquids but with Gu's instead of the energy bars because they are much easier to force down while on the rivet (not that I am particularly fast but chewing when you are already struggling to get enough oxygen is not ideal). For MTB it's the same but I take a camelback with water rather than a second bottle because my frame only takes one. Then a nice chocolate milk for after the ride.
  15. The pink frame is not new for the Epic, she has been rocking it since the World Champs last year. The frame she used for the XCO was a new one as far as I know. I don't have Instagram access on the work PC but it's in a post of hers (@kateplusfate) from 4 September 2017.
  16. I have an 820 that I use on both my road and mountain bikes. I always ride my MTB with full finger gloves (only use full finger on the road in winter) and I have never found the touch screen to be any better or worse than without gloves.
  17. CL with an ASG seeding of 29. Haven't seen anything about the MTB race yet.
  18. That sounds uncomfortable. Is it easier to wash skidmarks out of baggies?
  19. If you use Kleen Green, make sure you don't get any of it on bearings. Otherwise, what the guys above me have said.
  20. Absolute shambles of a week (work and overseas visitors): Time: 2:20 IF: 0.95 TSS: 220 Basically 1 swim, 1 run and and Over/Unders session. Hopefully this week goes better.
  21. This is exactly how I felt until I tried bibs. Now I'm a complete convert. Pretty much only use the shorts I still have on the IDT. Bibs for all "proper" rides.
  22. Both are fantastic bikes and neither would be a mistake. There isn't a right answer to "which is the better bike". If you've managed to ride both of then and have a favourite then go for that one.
  23. The helmet velcro jobbies are awesome. I have one on each of my helmets so I can't forget it ever.
  24. You can add different types of cycling (e.g. road, mtb etc.) but you can only select 1 default bike for "cycling" activities and not for each of the sub-types.
