  1. Lacondeguy, Zink and Semenuk complete a full SRAM | RockShox podium in the desert of Virgin, Utah. Lacondeguy crowned RedBull Rampage Champion, Zink takes Best Trick two years in a row and Semenuk walks away as 2014 FMB Champion. Click here to view the article
  2. So i've had it with my FOX RP2 Rear shock which came standard with my TREK Superfly. Time for an upgrade. I know nothing about rear shocks so some input would be appreciated. I ride mainly trails in the local bike parks and do marathon races with 1 or 2 stage races every year. Do I go Rockshox ? FOX ? Which model ? Is it worth having the remote lockout because i hardly used the propedal which is effectively a lockout. I've been looking at the Rockshox Monarch with the remote lockout....Any opinions on this shock. Oh!! how do the sizes work ? am i correct in understanding when they say 165 X 38 they refering to the eye to eye ctr dimension X the piston dia. Any help will be appreciated
  3. Do any shops/suppliers in SA bring these in? I've been on the phone with a couple of local shops and they all get back to me saying that their suppliers don't bring in the monarch plus at all, only the monarch... I know theres a couple guys here on the hub that have bought one, where did you get it from?! Can anyone point me in the right direction?
  4. Wowiez!!!! This is GOOD news. Hows about a Monarch Plus for your Stumpy? But WHY the hell only for the Evo models? Maybe time will tell? http://enduro-mtb.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Rockshox-2015-Enduro-Magazine-4-von-6-780x470.jpg I want one for my non Evo Stumpy FSR............ 5. Hi. Im looking at buying my first Dual suspension bike and got the 2 bikes up against each other. The VIPA is new to the market but what I heard, its a awesome bike. 6. Bought a Rock Shox Revelation (29" Tapered) 140 mm travel for a Pyga Oneten29. Pyga suggests a 120-130mm travel fork for this frame so I had the travel changed to 120 mm. Exposed stanchions now measure 115 mm?? Should I be concerned and have it changed back to 140 mm?
  7. After much internal debate and tooing and froing, I decided to replace my trusty Mojo SL-R with it's bastard child, the Mojo HDR 650b http://www.ibiscycle...s/mojo_hdr650b/ http://www.ibiscycles.com/images/uploads/bikeGallery/mojo_HDR130b-Ibis7219.jpg For those who are not familiar with the bike it is the follow up to the Mojo HD with some tech borrowed from the SL-R. It is lighter and stiffer than the HD, has better clearance for tyres, XX1 / X01 drivetrains and new gen piggyback shocks. Ordered the frame in Reverse Vitamin-P and in 650b mode. 650b mode? Frame can be run 130mm 650b 147mm 650b (using different limbo chips and custom tuned Mazocchi) 160mm 26" Went with the 130mm 650b as I already have what I need to run it 160mm 26". Will use my RockShox Monarch RC3. This way I have a killer Enduro / Trail / All Mountain slayer in one bike. Perfect. Local agents either don't have stock of what I want or just plain downright do not carry the model I want. Have gone through Race Face, Loaded, Spank and a couple others, but in the end turned to good ol' faithful CRC for some of it. If all goes well the bike will be build next week. Till then I will post some kit pics. A guide to what happened in here (of sorts) Page 11 PlastiDip pics Page 24 Build Pics Page 27 Complete bike and post first ride pics
  8. Anyone been thinking about ordering from Merlincycles.com? I see that have 10% off rock shox and can get free courier (UPS) for total orders over GBP 400,
  9. My Felt Virtue was stolen in Stellenbosch, it is not a common bike so it will be easy to spot. It has a White seat San Marco, black waterbottle holder, silver coloured rockshox front suspension and Radium rear suspension. Shimano XT derailleur. I really need to get this bike back so if anyone sees it or has information regarding it, please contact me on 076 168 7942. A reward will be given to whoever helps get the bike back. Regards V.Cabano
  10. Does anyone have experience with a Rockshox Poploc not releasing? Fork is a Rock Shox Reba 29 RL Air (2012 model). Here's the Motion Control unit model: http://www.sram.com/rockshox/products/remote-upgrade-kit-poploc The fork doesn't unlock when pushing the Poploc button. The remote mechanism and cable both move freely. I also removed the Motion Control unit from the fork to check that it's spring was attached top & botton, and that the bottom aluminium disc/value was rotating freely. I testing the spring action without cable attached after reassembling the fork and the action feels correct. Any ideas why it doesn't release with the Poploc? Could the Motion Control unit's spring have weakened? I'm stumped.
  11. I recently acquired a new Rockshox Reverb Dropper Post, and out of the box, it has play at the seat mount. If I hold the post and move the seat, it has a little bit of side to side play. I have checked the seat mountings and they seem fine. The play seems to be at the top of the seatpost. Is this normal? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
  12. I am tring to fit the crown from an FSA Headset to a Rockshox Revalation tapered fork however the crown is not able to go all the way down. There is a gap of abbout 2cm between the botom of the steerer and the crown. Advise please from those in the know?
  13. Hi there I need some advice on the price i should ask for a bike of mine. Silverback Michigan carbon fibre, carbon fibre handlebar, cobalt blue rims tubless with original tyres, rock shox recon gold rl,hydrolic disks, shimano deore front and back xt with sram hub, less than 500km.
  14. A mate of mines bike was stolen please keep a look out!! See below mail from him! Can you please put the word out. I had a high end mtb that was stolen on Saturday (see details below) and I’m desperately trying to get it back. It’s a very unique bike and you won’t find many of them. Please can you help by forwarding to everyone you know. On Saturday 26th April someone stole my mtb off the back of a Thule bike rack that it was locked on to. It happened in the mall in Glena Marais shopping centre where Finish Line Cycles is and security miraculously never saw anything despite being less than 20 meters away. The bike is a Scott Scale SL 900. The entire bike is matt black with an XX1 groupset, Rockshox fork, carbon Syncross wheels and finishing kit. Non standard items are black ESI grips and Geax Sagaro tubeless tyres. It has a small white tipex marking on the seat pin where it goes into the frame and also on the saddle rails from when the bike was fitted for me. There are small scratches on the inside of the rear triangle caused by a piece of wire that got stuck in the wheel a while ago. Bike is a medium and 2013 model in excellent nick. Please look out for it cos it's very rare and worth about R80k and I’m not insured. Happy to pay a reward. Richard 0768133326

  18. I am seriously considering buying the 2013 Momsen X-AL because of it's really good spec (see below - apologies for the formatting) in relation to price, but I am apprehensive because none of the distributors have stock to test out. I have also read that the rims aren't the easiest to get tyres to seat onto in a tubeless conversion either .... Thanks for your comments!

  20. Two of these new Rockshox RS-1 inverted forks are around for the first World Cup in Pietermaritzburg. They are more stunning in real life and certainly look stiffer than a horse's kick. Click here to view the article
  21. Hey guys I am struggling to decide which fork to buy. I have a Momsen AL329 frame (tapered). I dont have a huge budget and I have been looking at: RockShox Recon Silver TK Solo Air RockShox XC 32 TK Solo Air Forks Suntour Raidon RST First I Cant find the Rockshox forks at any of the shops near me, they mostly only sell the Reba. I have seen it on CRC for affordable prices. Do you guys have any recommendations on these forks, and also where to get a good deal on them. I would prefer to buy locally, in the JHB area as I would also like to have the steerer cut (if need be) Im not overly keen on buying second hand as most of the forks that I have seen for under R3k look like they have been through the wars.

  23. I walked into Finish Line Cycles in Edenvale recently, best bike shop in Johannesburg. To be greeted by a beauty, the new top spec Titan Carbon 29er Ultimate. It looked great and has some great components, full XX1, SRAM carbon wheels and RockShox SID XX. Then I saw the price...almost 60k. It looked a bit high, until I saw the beauty standing a few bikes away, a Momsen Vipa. Specs are almost the same, XX1 with front and rear suspension provided by Fox CTD and ZTR Crest wheels. And price...only 49k. Then I knew it, Titan lost the plot. I much rather have the Vipa. It just is a beter bike, not even mentioning the 10k you will save by buying one
  24. I have a Trek Superly that has a Reba RL29 fork. I'd like to add remote lockout to it, is it possible? Don't really want to replace as it is the stock G2 geometry fork?
  25. After having just been at my LBS to collect my bike I discover that their appears to be a lot less travel than I remember ( shock is shorter, after the guys had a look and I sat on it and almost maxed it out with an apparent 120psi in it.they decided to send it back to CT to be relooked at. My concern is that my stansions ( hope I spelt that right) do have a few slight ridges on them, however before the service I had no problems with airloss. And cannot afford new ones! What other factors could be invloved? I did also have a remote lockout removed and a standard one put in its place if that could effect it. Help please!?
