Can everyone please obey the traffic laws strictly over the next week at least - It's Argus time, there are loads of riders on the roads but doing stupid things make us all look like moving targets at this time of year...

Last night in peak traffic 4 okes are cycling down the M3 - What The F*%& are you thinking!! Dont be stupid. this is against the law and only makes drivers hate us more.

Ride in single file.

Be courteous - acknowledge a gap in the traffic and thank the motorist, also thank then if they wait for a decent spot to overtake.

Use hand signals

STOP AT LIGHTS

Use LED lights in the early hours and late evening.

Admit when you are wrong - don't simply start swearing at cars. Smile and wave.

Please try to avoid being stupid - cos stupid people become dead people, and if an infuriated driver misses you and happens to find me next, how would you feel knowing it was you that angered him into taking me out?

PLEASE!!!!!

95% of these riders are fun riders that only recently located their bicycles somewhere in storage and dusted it off for the world fun ride championships in the Western Cape called the ARGUS, most of them don't even know the Hub exist.

I noticed some of the Elite cyclist own the road and have this attitude....even the casual riders....why I dont know....and then you have the few Elites who is friendly, you can cycle with them on Bottelary and stuff....

I personally greet mainly everyone, talk to people when cycle, sometimes cycle a bit with them....just a friendly happy chap in general :P

Yes let's be courteous and try to set an example! Rather give way and lose 5 seconds, be kind and be patient. Do as you would want other people to do to you.

Same applies to when you are driving in your car. When you get in think about your attitude and that you're going to try and drive for other people rather for yourself.

Let's spread the love!! :D

PS not everyone is on the hub - so if you see a chop, please tell him to not be a chop. ;)

I have always found that to be a challenge at 6h00 in the morning. Chops riding in the group, doing something stupid, and when asked to refrain from doing so they immediately go on the defensive, swearing and performing... Not always in the mood for early morning rants from idiots.

It's definitely silly season just before the Argus. It's evident in my group ride as well with guys riding with no lights, riding on the wrong side of the white line etc.

Hope the Argus can just come and go now so that things can return to the; already dangerous normal we are used to. Tension is probably getting to me 'cause I'm hoping for better weather this year
