If you think your life sucks, remember Sainz is signed to drive a Ferrari next year............

Ferrari must be paying him A LOT more than McLaren.

Lets look at his pro's and cons.

Currently his team mate is someone who seems to be one of the nicest funniest guys in the current drivers list.

His next team mate, hmm, he's sort of French, they can be known to be a bit dodge.

Status/History-well sure Ferrari is a big name that goes way back but it's not like McLaren isn't, I mean SENNA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Red overall/car vs Orange overall/car- neither here nor there.

Zak Brown vs Mattia Binotto(who will it be next year?)- I don't know Zak personally obviously but he seems like a chilled guy.

2021 Engine and Aero package- McLaren getting the Merc powerplant and the aero just seems to be improving all the time. Ferrari will probably go backwards.

Transport to and from the track-I guess that comes down to taste but if I had the cash I would splash on a McLaren before a Ferrari.

So what else is left?

Money in the bank and lots of it.

Am I wrong?

while i'll admit to vigorously disliking Mclaren up to 2014 or so (something about Ron Dennis and even Martin Whitmarsh under Ron Dennis just rubbed me the wrong way since forever)...i am starting to warm up to them in their new guise with some 'Murica up in that biatch. I am genuinely routing for them to do well these days. Maybe it's because i always like an underdog. But i mean, how can you not like Lando?...and next year with Dani Ric too. Gonna be so much fun following that circus.

Carlos commited career suicide imo. He can try and be Bottos v4.655 or something to Leclerc i guess.

I never liked them during their LH years........... I have pretty much always been a Ferrari supporter but have always respected teams like McLaren and Williams.

What is happening at Haas? Are they one of the teams who had written off 2020 to jump into 2021 and then it got moved to 2022?

How is Grojean still there, does he have something over Gunther?

Alfa Romeo, good to see Kimi not giving an inch to Ferrari, also feel that his team mate is a little hit and miss.

The pink Mercedes, where has their straight line speed gone?

I used to be a Ferrari man, simply because they were red, and 3yo me loved red cars. But since the loss of Schumie, I've been hunting for a new team. I was kinda in with RB when Vettel was there, but I don't like Vettel anymore and there's just something about Horner that just doesn't gel, for some reason. Mercedes excites me, because they're faaaaar ahead of everyone else, technically. Toto seems to have his head screwed on very tight, and he is extremely straightforward. But I despise Hamilton, so they're out.

I've never really liked Mclaren, but with Zak in charge, and the drivers they have, they're my firm favourites. They just seem like the complete package at the moment, and getting Dani Ric next year could be VERY good for them. Not sure whether they'll have the same dynamic as Norris & Sainz do, but I'm well impressed by their organisation and drivers, lately.

Plus, Norris is now definitely my favourite driver. I hope the Merc package works out well. They seem to have an excellent car underneath them, and Norris is frighteningly quick in the corners.

to paraphrase Gunther..."they are looking like a bunch of wankers" obviously because of the ferrari engine nerf, but they also apparently suffered under the same rule change that has everyone's panties in a bunch about the pink mercedes.

Because brake ducts were labeled a 'listed' part from the start of this season, HAAS had to start designing/making their own this year...and I mean, they couldn't even make the ferrari ducts work in previous years...their braking performance has been shocking since 2018.

Grosjean...yea he must have tentacle porn of Gene Haas and Steiner or something. how that man is still in f1....

snip

same. I was a MS supporter since 93 when he started messing with the then big dogs (senna, prost Mansell etc) as the new kid on the block. Alot of people just became MS fans by default...because they were winning everything by 2001. But man i'll tell you it was hard being a Schumi fan up to then haha.

talk about loyalty.

After he left, .I'll admit I was still routing for Nando when he was there...something about that mans tenacity just reverberated with me....a real racer.  These days i could give a toss about ferrari as a team...they are such dinosaurs imo...their biggest hurdle. Mercedes...ugh, again...when MS2.0 came back i was oblidged to support them....but man, something bout that corporate drone...i cant. Ando how could you not like the Brawn fairytale in 2009. everybody was cheering for them that year.

Redbull, yes...Horner looks like a guy you'd want to punch in the face when you've had one too many. But their attitude as the disrupters in the sport is what I enjoy the most about them. they are that anoying little young jack russel in the field old tired dogs. I wouldn't call myself a die hard fan necessarily, i'm more a fan of the sport in these days (well.....), but man do i like it when they upset the mercedes apple cart every now and then.

Also...thank god for max verstappen. Utter litlel twat yes...but an absolute machine of a racing driver. I have no doubt in my mind that he'll make Lewlew look like a has been in the same car. He has that killer instict reminecent of a younger MS....that "i'll put you in a wall to win" haha

There's still only 1 team in most of our hearts and we can trash them as much as we like , but as soon as that little horse starts bolting again one day, we’re right back in. It’s so sad that we hacking with the back trackers right now, and Seb seems to have lost it, but Ferrari will be back . Dream combo for me would be Charles and Max , in cars that can race

Only if they had decent drivers. Not like Hamilton. More drivers like Danny, Sainz, LeClerc, Lando etc

Fair enough, but we SEE Zak, and hear from him all the time.

true and Andreas is an enigneer at heart so while Zak might just be a very involved exec the rest of the time has more time to focus on developing thew car and it's showing

they're quickly becoming my second favourite team , ferrari will always be number 1 .....until Vettel leaves

Grosjean is out and The Hulk is in, pretty sure I read that over the weekend. Also talk of getting rid of KMag. I do think both those drivers are overrated.

Back to F1 in general, read a story where Lewis is saying he agrees that F1 is boring but its the bosses who must do something.

I disagree, surely as the top dog you have a big say? "Look guys, I am winning all these races, and breaking all these records but the racing is a joke. Let's sort it out"

Surely that's something he could do, or is it more lip service????

There is nothing for him to gain out of making racing more interesting. He has too much to say off track to worry about close racing.

To be honest, in the current political climate it is favourable to the F1 brand to have a person of colour dominating so they will be in no hurry to end it. Which is sad for the sport in general.

If anybody wishes to see that as a racist comment, good on you.
