Glad you enjoyed your ride.  If you start your ride from Hazendal you will avoid that climb from Zevenwacht and will also finish your ride with the single track sections on green.

Please take note that there is a fire in the forest section (Ribbok single track).   Avoid that area  till further notice.  Will post updates as more info becomes available.

Fire has been put out - just hope it does not flare up again due to the wind. Please avoid that area today and tomorrow.  Trailblazers crew will move in tomorrow to clear the trails where necessary.  All the single track sections in the forest should be open this weekend.

Fire has flared up again as a result of the wind.  Same caution as before - stay away from forest area on top of the hill.

Just back from Ribbok single track.  Fire is out - still some smoke here and there from roots that are still smouldering . Area that burned not too big - minimal damage to trails.  Trailblazers crew busy clearing the trails and doing repairs.  All sections will be open for riding from tomorrow - just take it easy through the burnt sections as the edges of the trail are loose in places where burning roots caused holes or had to be dug out.

TRAIL NOTICE: while the bushfrie on Ribbokkop has once again been contained we advise riders to stay clear of the Ribbok Singletrack. When deemed safe to do so we will clear and repair the trail. We will notify once open.

TRAIL NOTICE: "The good, the bad and the ugly"
The good news is the Ribbokkop bush fire has been put out once again (touch wood). The bad news is we have no choice but to detour the Ribbok singletrack to get around the burnt area. The ugly news is that we not sure how long it will be before we can get in to do a repair. The fire happened at the worst possible time of year, the ground is dry preventing trail repair. Obviously we also have safety concerns with trees falling over periodically and unstable ground conditions. Not much can be done right now other than hope we get some decent rain in the coming weeks. The image shows the detour.

Meanwhile, while the fires have been burning the 2017 annual permits have been released, visit http://bottelaryconservancy.co.za/annual-permits/

Please note, if you have a gmail email address the confirmation email for your purchase may go to your gmail spam/junkmail.

Just for clarification - who is considered to qualify for a pensioner permit? Tygerberg MTB Club for example considers people 60 or over as pensioners.
