Ja. And as my wife says. You only buy a Subaru to impress other men. Cos chicks think they look like Toyota Corolla's

And the rest of you buy bakkies coz they make you feel like Arnie.

But "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" :D

In Subaru's case, it is not about the looks, but the dynamics. They may be fugly, but goes like the clappers.

Which muscle, when.

I was trying to figure this out the other day! To the layperson is the bicep femoris the quad? I know gastrocnemius is the main calf muscle and we all know the glute, so which muscle(s) comprise the hamstring?

I figure understanding this better would allow one to do some strength specific training in the off season and / or tell you something about your technique if you always have issues or cramping in one area...

I have another little gem for you then.

Biceps femoris is what makes up your hamstring. It comprises and long and a short head which activates depending on angle of flexion. It's involved with knee flexion (bending).

The gastrocnemius is the main (good looking) calf muscle cyclists normally have.

The major official quadriceps muscle in the figure is the vastus lateralis (outside of the quad). The vastus medialis (VMO) does get worked in cycling as well.

They have also colour coded the rectus femoris (quad=4) the same as the gastrocnemius. You can see how it then changes from the vastus lateralis to the rectus femoris before the knee flexors take over.
