I was 9, it was quite an experience.Something that happens it stays fresh in your mind forever.Newspaper interviews, a funeral with a massive procession where I walked ahead of the other soldiers who attended with more of them and a band forming a tunnel for us to walk through. Having to be at the Union Buildings and the state President calling you and shaking your hand and then he gives you a medal of honor.Heartbreaking , painful enough to hurt every single time you think about it, but an immense amount of pride that goes along with it. The fact that you remember it so well says a lot. Your Dad is indeed a Hero, and the country is indebted to him and all others like him.
