So i cut away some of my thumb at work...

Yip, that is a bastard of an injury.......luckily you have the knowledge and background to look after it. What happend?.…...the cutting powers of a scalpel maybe?

 

Sustained a similar injury while working on a vehicle's engine. Vehicle engine was running as required for setting timing. Next moment alternator's pulley cooling blades shaves off a few millimeters from thumb tip........in the process exposing the subcutaneous nerve endings. Thumb healed up nicely, although a little bit tender and sensitive for pressure in that area.

 

Look after it and quick healing vibes.

With a specimen cutting blade. Basically a 10cm long scalpel. Really sharp

 

The screw was stuck (to remove blade) and in the process my thumb slipped
