I have an idea for a new thread...

TNT1

Just read an article about it. This is just a teaser video, with more to be released at a later stage. Apparently, according to Lexus, it is rideable as is, but still has to undergo more testing.

The other thing is, you can't just ride it anywhere, it has to be on a metallic surface.

It's the closest any of us will get to re-enacting back to the future right now so can't complain I guess.

Absolutely. Lets hope for a future of sidewalks and roads with metallic sub-surfaces.

It looks like Lexus are looking at applying this to hover or "flying cars" of the future.

Personally I think mag lev tech in such a compact environment is not strong enough to keep the person levitated on top of that board.

My opinion is that the magnets are just strong enough to levitate it's own weight in addition to the board and containers including the cooling material.

Shot Hairy!

So that thing about the internet that Abraham Lincoln said was true!!

Well, Lexus never said, "we're about to sell these" people just came to their own conclusion. I would like to know where those two prototypes are just to have a go on them...

You know you're getting old when Marty McFly is 54!!!

That doesn't depress me nearly as much as the fact I am not getting a hoverboard.

I am saving for another bike at the moment, and when I saw that clip it instantly became the hoverboard fund instead of the bike fund ;)

I had put my bikes up for sale here on the classifieds already. Took them off again this morning :(

Lexus is clearly playing with fire here...or at least an angry mob of light sabre wielding geeks.

Classic marketing hook from their marketing co.
