Big problem is mounting the belt on a conventional frame, the chain stay gets in the way. Unlike a chain, a belt cannot be joined with a gold link.

ahh...

As far as I know a belt is slightly less efficient that a chain. Also as mentioned before you need a special frame to be able to fit a continuous belt. They also don't enjoy stones and grass and stuff that gets stuck in the pullies...

Nice. I want - with a belt drive. Mud and water no longer an issue.

Make sure you are sitting down when they give you the quote...

Alfine... cheapskates!

Give that bike a rohloff!

Aaah, a sophisticated cyclist I see. Wouldn't mind getting my hands on Mr Min's old G-Cross 'box...

Wow, looks like that rohloff hub would weigh a ton? O.o Well, as you can notice the bike in question is onroad, so meh to all the dirt and grass issues. I would however first want the price in Rand =P

How did the mount it on the bike picture here then? Looks like a normal bike and chain and seat stays are welded?

Is there a better pic of the drive-side stays? From the picture posted here it looks like there may be some sort of removable dropout there, but can't be sure.

Orange released a belt drive a few years ago with a few bolts on the chainstay to be able to unbolt the rear part to fit the belt. Probably the same system used here.

Off topic, saw this RT by Our Hero, made me smile cynically. Oh OK, certified is a bit of an exaggeration in his case!
