you mean some people can afford to keep MTBs and order food at Teak...

...my CRC addiction means I eat pies when I ride, haha!

But seriously... I've only ever been to Teak solo... only ordered food once out of those 4/5 times... ordered the smaller Teak burger (as mentioned previously)... service was fine, burger was amazing.

If you want some terrible service go to Cafe del Mar in Ponta do Ouro, Mozambique. Was there last month. It took 2h45min for my food to arrive. yup! 2hr45! Sure we had a big table, but we didn't push the restaurant beyond its capacity. If I wasn't there with friends, I would have cancelled the order and gone elsewhere. The food was crap too... and overpriced! Ponta is in serious need of a KFC!

The CoCo lodge in Bakavu at least warns you at the entrance what to exoect.

In the event the wait was just right, enough time for two slow beers before the food arrived.

I emailed them to the email address on their website telling them to pull up their socks and have a look at this thread.

The email was 'undelivered' as the email address no longer exists.

shooo all this talk of food has me HUNGRY!!!!!

i go to teak to ride, the food is a by-product as is the service.

I have experienced both good and bad, last time was not too shabby.

You say the service has gone down? As far as I am concerned it's always been bad. Not even Gordon Ramsay could sort those useless peasants out. Toadbury hall is just down the road. Much better plan.

I make sarmies in the morning before I go to a ride.

On Sun when got back to the car it was emmental cheese, parma ham and rocket on wholewheat bread with drinking yoghurt kept nice and cold in a cooler box.Muuuch nicer than that restauranty crappy food.

A few weeks ago they seated us at the end of one of those long tables, and another group of people at the other. We didn't know these people from a bar of soap. After about two hours of Sh$%%y service the bill arrives with everything on one bill, our group as well as the one at the other end. After about 30min of shouting and screaming they eventually sorted it out. Not going back anytime soon.

Teak: please get you act together!!!!!

like i said the riding is some of the best in town pity they cant match that with the service. we often ride in big groups with everyone coming from all over so once we get in our cars there is no plan to meat n eat somewhere else. just sad that something so simple to fix can cause such a hassle.

I rode with Jc that day... I can say he is not one who rants about anything...EVER!!! The service was shocking! My toasted sarmie was soggy, love that!

But as stated, not the first time! Guess we learn from this and take business elsewhere.

Have things gotten better lately with the restuarant/service...?

I'd like to ride at Teak next weekend and would like the family to join afterwards, if not then its back to Something Country or somewhere else.
