That has to be the most colonialist photograph I've seen this year [emoji23]

Place is called Samfya. We arrived late as usual, looked for a camping spot. Right at the dead-end of the road, past some construction we found this place.

They offered supper, we gladly accepted. My bil took a chance and asked if we could eat on the beach, and they nearly fell over their feet to oblige.

An absolute magical evening... most beautiful fresh fish, tender pork and excellent chicken,,, must say, I suppose that's how the colonialists must have felt...

I probably know the answer but I have to ask... Is it even worth it to attemp to capture the moon tonight if all I have is an 18-55 lens? Would I get something useable if I crop the hell out of it?

You can try, but I'm not sure how it will turn out. I tried to get a shot of a full moon in 2016 with my 55-200mm, camera attached to the tripod, but it didn't turn out too lekker, even when cropped. Then again, it was one of my first moon shots. Maybe see how it goes after a few snaps.

Thanks, will rather give it a skip then and try some other time when I get a different lens.

By the time the next full eclipse returns you might not be able to lift a zoom lense. Just do it...
