Fantastic break, but I only had my phone and a little mik & druk Canon waterproof with me, so the quality is scrappy, but I still loved trying to find unusual things and compositions. We just traveled too light and too fast to cart the big EOS and lenses along. :(

Travelling light is good, especially if you're covering a few cities. Besides it allows you to look at things differently, sometimes it can be better not being stuck behind a lense for too long, especially if you're experiencing it with family.

DJ, what kit did you take ?

A Canon D30, which is their little waterproof compact. I bought it for paddling and fishing, but found that it is rather useful when travelling in dusty and rough places also because it is pretty bulletproof. Of course it is rather limited, but what is great is that it is about the size of a wallet and it fits into a pants pocket, so it can really go anywhere with you and you don't have to worry about it getting wet or dirty or taking a mild tumble. The only weakness I found is that it doesn't float, so if you drop it in deep water, it will be gone.

Otherwise I used an old iPhome 5, mostly for panoramics.  The young Ds used a Sony Experia and a Huawei and both take far better pictures than the iPhone.

This was taken by one of the young Ds with a Sony Experia. I like the composition and the fact that he saw something in what would otherwise be very ordinary blocks of buildings.

THIS IS AWESOME !

This was the same corridor an hour earlier. Horrible place to be. Reminded me cattle in the abattoir. As with everything in life and photography, timing MATTERS! Another Sony phone picture.
