Here she is....my Morewood Shova!

Pics from her first session in Tokai last weekend....im still grinning from ear to ear!

Makes such a difference compared to the HT i was riding before!

Excuse the shoddy pic quality...they look alot better on the cellphone screen..lol!

Basic Spec breakdown:

2010 Shova Frame (purchased new a few weeks ago from the Morewood Factory)

Rock Shox Revelation 150mm RLT Ti

Fox DHX 4.0 Air

Alex RIms

Hope Pro 2 hubs

Maxxis High Roller 2.35 Super Tacky (Front)

Maxxis High Roller 2.35 60a compound (Rear)

Syncros FR31 Handlebar with Sram locking grips.

Shimano Slx rear mech

Shimano Deore Front mech

Shimano Octalink triple crankset

(Still need to fit some decent flat pedals)

I know the groupset spec isnt that great but will eventually swop the groupset out for a 2x10...but that will have to wait!

So i will be enjoying her as she is for a while...but after last weekends session im not complaining at all!!! smile.png

Yo, now try and ride up that "troll bridge" you are dropping off .... ;)

4barlinkage is on his way to The Swazi Frontier as a waterpoint/roving mechanic.

I can tell you that those Contraband frames are what G. Usher and co are going to be bringing in. They are steel and only available in the brushed steel look. Suited to both 29er and 650B wheels with EBB and they are a sweet ride. Will be available from early next year.

4bar can correct any facts I may have wrong here...

This is my new lady. I'm still waiting on the wheels and I need to get it to a shop to do the pesky cabling. But it should be up and running by next weekend for some Summer fun.

So I took my 5.5 out this weekend to Northern Farms. I could pedal up the hills pretty easily so it aint too heavy... the bike really comes alive on the single track and is very agile through the bends.

Did not feel as comfortable on the downhills cos of the slightly steeper head angle. My commencal had a slacker head angle so it felt amazing downhill. However the bike still ate up the downhill.

All in all, it's a sick bike! Very happy with it!

Wheels arrived this morning. So those go on and we're riding by the weekend. Yeehaw.

I ended up paying over 3k for what I thought was gonna be a 2k wheelset from superstar but I'm not dissapointed at all. They look very well made and light.
