This is for the climbers!

Me think it is specially designed for 'Berto.

Distinctive aspects of the race

  • 6 summit finishes
  • 2 rest days
  • 16 km. team time-trial
  • 40 km. individual time-trial stage
  • 37 mountain passes and hills

Rodriquez came so close in the Giro after Hesjedal.

Wonder whether the Canadian is gonna be back to continue his rich form this year.

Yeah, he is a great little climber, but blows hot and cold, never really consistent. Personally I dont see anybody challenging 'Berto, unless he has been loafing for the 6 months suspension (which I doubt) - this course is made for him.

It would have been interesting to see how Froom matched up to Berto If he was fully rested. And on a course with more TT..

Berto will be as fresh as spring flowers but he wouldnt have had any racing (obviously) so it could still be interesting..

Indeed, it could count a bit against him, but I think he has been pretty busy over his "time on the bench" and hopefully he will be keen to set the record straight, I hope he has at least some serious competition or it could be boring..............Oh my.....what did I just say.........the Vuelta is my second favorite event, it can never be boring.! :D

Seems to me people are once again underestimating what Froome can do........

When compared to Contador who seemed a bit tired after the Giro last year at the tour, I cant Imagine Froom dog recovered any more after his tour which was probably even tougher on his body then Contadors Giro was as he was. And now Froom is up against a fresh Alberto Contador who will make light work of most.

Im holding thumbs that its a close afair..

Some say 'Berto won't be as potent without his regular 'steak'.

Gonna be interesting.

Dracs my brother, here on The Hub they know it all and any South Africans or anyone with a link to this country don't have the ability to perform at top level.

:D - Well, we will see, I think he will though.

Yeah, GOG, he has won many GTs.

He knows how to race over 3 weeks.

That Vuelta Map is customized to his strengths.

Weird thing to say. Everyone on this forum seemed to be 1000 percent behind Froome at the Tour.

Anyway, I love the guy, and hope he gets a GT at some point. What will be interesting is a Contador who has no racing under the bonnet (except for a pancake flat eneco tour), vs Froome, who has become I reckon, the best tour rider next to Contador. One's gonna be over cooked, and one's gonna be a tad under done. Will be interesting. I am especially looking to what Cobo, van Den Broek and co make of the cards dealt.

Yes troll, that was then, now it's a different ball game.

Seems they only know when to back a horse when they are almost certain it will win.

Nothing weird in my comment, simply adding support to the sentiment of Dracs.
