We had our first group enter the 947 Cycle challenge as a "ride for a purpose" charity and it was awesome!

I had some great sponsors onboard and the riders had a blast.

Thanks to everyone who helped make the day possible and most of all, thanks to all my sponsors and everyone who raised funds for the initiative.

The yellow bike is going today. The other 2 before year end. This will bring the number of bikes we've given away to 50!

I hope I am not repeating a question here as I have not read through all the pages.

I don't have any spares laying around but would like to make a cash donation - I couldn't find any info on your site with regards to doing this. Do you take cash? I'm sure from time to time that is more useful.

Thanks Lurch. Yes I do accept cash. This helps pay for hard to find parts like new chains, cables etc. as well as for my monthly storage costs. I'll PM you.

About 2 years ago, we gave Petrus this Trek Fuel bike. It was generously donated to us and we knew he'd get good use out of it.

A few months ago the bike went missing under suspicious circumstances. 2 weeks ago, Petrus saw the bike being ridden near Diepsloot and him and a friend fought off the rider and retrieved the bike.

The bike had been severely abused and now needs some serious maintenance and repair.

Among other things, the bike needs new grips, a new brake lever blade, and a new chain, cassette and chainrings. Probably more parts too. We'll know more once we start taking it apart for a rebuild.
