Iain Olivier Posted September 15, 2011 Share What Is Your No. 1 Spread? My personal favourite is Marmite with cheese! My reason for posting this poll and thread is that during lunch I quickly went to my local Spar to buy a jar of Marmite with cheese to have on a sandwich. Amazingly, every jar is sold out with every other spread hardly touched. I was bleak and instead bought a regular Marmite and some cheese wedges to tide me over. Therefore: Vote for your favourite spread on bread, toast or pro-vita. Specifically, vote for the spread you most like to enjoy before, during or after a long ride. I have kept the choices to those most commonly available at your local shops. If you have another valid choice, please list it, and it will be added to the poll if I can figure out how. Also, this is not about brands... Edited September 16, 2011 by smuj

krl747 Posted September 15, 2011 Share @Flemish Lion - That is unfair! I would love that stuff! My uncle send me the biscuits from the Netherlands. We also have a very decent Dutch bakery in Edenvale that makes them!

Caerus Posted September 15, 2011 Share Now I combine some favourites for a better taste experience. First would be toast with cheese and strawberry jam, the other being, toast with fish paste(Must be Pecks) dipped into coffee.

AndreZA Posted September 15, 2011 Share warm toast + nutella...perfect pre ride brekkie It never makes it as a spread. I finish it with a teaspoon between the cupboard and the counter.

The closest you can get to it is to put the speculoos biscuits on fresh bread and drain them with black coffee - thats what we do in Belgium and thats where the idea originated from... now they also have speculoos ice cream and liqueur...mmm!!
