Serious, not at all? never knew there was a dog that cant swim..

Will have to warn my sister in law she has a pool and would hate to see her scottie (mac), but come to think of it i recall he is not keen on open water...

I had a scottie that used to swim, loved jumping in and fetching tennis balls.

When it was hot he used to climb on the first step and walk up and down, all that was showing above water was his head.

well..i dont know the exact answer there..but ours can manage a few strokes and then starts sinking slightly..I reckon it could probably manage about 5 metres max

Somehow I cant imagine Ruby fitting in there

Ja...and an outing with Ruby requires charting a course, getting council permission, warning neighbours of the intended walkies...haha!

I recently got a little Corsa as a runaround...my son took one look at it, and went: "So, Dad, when Ruby needs to go to the vet, will you be walking her there?"

I have heard of 2 scotties who drowned. Most can't swim but I did manage to teach ( with lots of effort) my moms current one how to swim and now she loves the water.

Time to boast. Wife submitted one of the pics of a Rottie diving into our pool to fetch ball in a competition which subsequently won a few chemicals, a lilo and a braaiing book. Given I suck at taking pics it must be the photogenic Rottie, so by definition she owns the lilo. Getting her to use it will be the summer project ...

Very cool. I do enjoy these underwater dog pics - your rottie still quite young? Looks small.
